What's Your Favorite/Least Favorite NFL Helmet?

Fave 3:

Eagles (My favorite in the NFL for probably my favorite looking identity in the NFL.)

Broncos (It's amazing to realize that this has been around for 10+ years. It's officially a modern classic, IMO.)

Seahawks (The wrap around hawk is very nice.)

Bills (The striping is a cluster .)

Cardinals (The gray facemask ruined the entire helmet and uniform design)

Lions (The black facemask just doesn't work.)

I can echo all of those, but I'll also put the Browns in my bottom tier category, because it's so uninspired and strangely uses the tradition argument when that tradition is off in Baltimore.

Additionally, I wish the Steelers would put the damn logo on the other side already. A lack of uniformity for traditions sake is a weak argument. See: Cowboys and their complete hodgepodge of colors.

Stealing the full 32 rankings idea. Now just so you understand what I went through to compile my list I'm going to let you in on my reasoning. Sometimes it makes sense and other times I might seem to contradict myself, but it's my list. I prefer helmets that play off of their nickname such as the Bengals or Rams, but I'm not a fan of the new vikings head-gear. I like traditional helmets, but I'm not afraid to adopt something new. I don't like helmets that seem to be trying to hard like the lions 49ers or the bills. It's 2:41 am, I can't sleep and I just used the 32 chrome helmets my grandmother gave me for christmas 6 years ago to create the full lineup. Here goes.

I'm not doing just the lids, I'm doing the whole package. The look of the helmet is key, but also importanrt is how it compliments the unis.

Favorites

1. Buccaneers (One of the many reasons I like the team so much)

2. Bengals (Most unique look in football IMO)

3. Saints (Would be higher if the gold on the unis actually came close to matching the great color on the lids)

4. Giants ( I HATE saying this too. It just works, especially with the metallic blue)

5. Rams (Horns are great, colors are excellent)

Least

5. Chargers (I loved the white throwbacks, but I can't help but feel they took a step in the wrong direction by overdoing this way too much. But, it works with the powder alts. Make those the homes and this drops off the list all together)

4. Cardinals (Drop the grey mask and it drops off the list)

3. Lions (The previous helmet was PERFECT. They just had to F it up with the black)

2. Chiefs (Wouldn't bother me so much if it matched the jersey set even slightly, but either way it's still boring as hell)

1. Bills (Seven stripes? Nickel? Two different blues? A logo main color that doesn't match the uni set in any way? are you F'in serious?)

I would put the eagles at or near the top but i hate how the wings wrap around the front, it looks bad to me. Does anyone know why they do this?

Favourites;

Chargers- Maybe I'm biased, but they're just sharp on top of being a fantastic update of a classic design.

Texans- It's new, yet it's also an instant classic.

Bengals- Unique, timeless, and classic.

Least Favourites;

Jets- The logo is a mess.

Bills- The seven stripes. It's overkill.

Raiders- There's classic, and there's old. This logo is just old.

So, I'm a die-hard Redskins fan. It's my favorite team in all of sports, but the helmet is hot garbage (mainly because the logo is so terrible).

Least favorites:

Vikings- For some reason...the white design they have on the side that is suppose to resemble horns, is terrible looking, and it doesn't look anything like horns.

Nonsense... its not only beautiful, its brilliant, and it looks exactly like a horn. Colors are perfect. Its not only the best designed football helmet ever, its probably the single best designed human object in written history.

I'm not kidding.

I'm a complete homer, but I'm pretty sure I'm also serious about this... its that good. You can say I only think that because they're my team, but you'd have that backwards. They're only my team because I believe everything I've just written. My love of the team clearly followed my realization of the genious of the helmet.

I know were all intitled to our own opinions, but it baffles my that anyone can disagree with this obvious truth.

The yellow facemask isn't the problem. The Redskins problem is that they're one of the few who use a metallic finish that doesn't look as good as the flat finish. The flat finish helmets worked better in my opinion, also it seems like the three stripes are getting closer and closer together.

Sorry to say it but I completely disagree, I think the gloss finish looks so damn classy.

On more of a thematic note, it's kind of strange how for the most part, most of the board has similar tastes in uniform design but helmet preference is so varied. One person's favorite is another's least favorite.
