I just hope this is something isolated and recent, not something he was doing for a significant length of time with the Red Sox. Regardless though, I'm disappointed in Manny no matter how long he was using. I'm also surprised. I do feel better about it because of that. I'm not a huge Manny fan by any means. But I had always heard about how much he stays in the batting cage and how hard he works (When he wants to) Maybe he is telling the truth that it was a doctor's prescription and although I'm sure he will still have to serve the suspension, at least it will be a legitimate mistake.
