I posted this in the regualr NFL thread, but I'll put it here too.

At first I liked the idea of the Titans wearing Oliers gear, but the more I see it the more out of place it looks. It just isn't right for a team called the Tennessee Titans to be wearing HOUSTON Oilers caps on the sideline, especially when there's a team in Houston. And The Houston got doubley slapped this season with the Chiefs wearing Texans gear. Add that to the Jets wearing Titans uniforms, the whole throwback thing just looks dumb.

I still like it, to be honest. It shouldn't be like this forever but for a year it's a nice celebration of the only league to successfully challenge the NFL.

At one point the much discussed vertically striped field stocking (as my old equipment manager would call socks) was a part of Wilson's uniform catalog circa 1960-61:

I have heard a couple of people say they saw high school teams wearing the style but I have never seen proof of it.

From what I understand, the Broncs obtained their brown and yellow first uniform set from an all-star game.

What's truly wild is the ref's uniforms. How's that for a throwback? When's the last time ref's have worn throwbacks on the same field as the players wearing them?

1994 for the 75th. They wore scally caps and i think even bowties if i'm not mistaken...

Fawcett Stadium has 3 sets of markings...high school, college, and NFL. Not sure what the markings just above the numbers are.
OK. Those lines are because the field has numbers on it in the college location (I think). If memory serves, college numbers' top are nine yards from the sideline, whereas NFL numbers' bottoms are twelve yards from the sideline.

There are rules involving substitution that use the numbers as a justification. For instance, if you substitute in, you must come in at least past the numbers to be legally in - so you can't sneak a player onto the field for a cheap pass play.
