2010 World Cup Kits

It is a bit odd that, in my opinion at least, the Puma kits for the African teams are so good, whilst there efforts for the rest of the world are so poor.

On gitusum's point, the logo on the left of the jersey as you look is the Swiss football federation's logo, I don't know exactly why the badge and the flag both get onto the jersey however.

And to confirm chestnutz point, here is the current Croatia shirt

And what the Czech Republic have been in recently

previous Swiss Football Association logo

ASF_SFV-logo-5FFA9F1DD3-seeklogo.com.gif

note: the gold was used in some variations, others, just had a white background with a red trim circle. (on the jerseys for example)

It has the cross & colors from the Swiss flag and the letters SFV and ASF which stand for Swiss Football Association in 3 (of the 4 official) languages:

Schweizerischer Fussballverband (GER)

Association Suisse de Football (FRA)

Associazione Svizzera di Football (ITA)

Because of circumstances I can't share, a "relaunch" was done, sadly without consulting the broader community.

A lot of people complained, since the cross, colors, letters were much less readable and wanted the old one back.

Some folks who were worried about re-elections in sports aswell as n the goverment jumped on the bandwagon and voila whe have a Swiss flag on the jersey (and shorts).

The long sleeved version is excellent...the white cuffs at the end of the sleeve don't look as good on the short sleeve. Still, it's a damn good shirt. Good to see England going back to basics for the World Cup, that's the only way that they look right, IMO.

Argentina's Away Jerseys.

I like them (I still need to see them in person as I said the same thing with the Home jerseys, but then I HATED the light blue color they picked).

I still don't get the weird template, it kinda looks it's there just to piss people off; I'm talking about the weird pocket looking thing on the shorts and sleeves.

Does anyone know why the Nike kits have no badges on the kits? I know these are pretty much leaks and are technically 'unofficial' but I would think they would have the national federation or association badge for image purposes.

Let me add the following so no one else has to say it: Badges!? At Nike we don't need no stinking Badges!

Well, i'm guessing these are prototype pictures, because if you think that Nike will allow it's teams to take the field without its swoosh on the chest, you're delusional. I'm positive the swooshes and bages will be added later...

Viola, this message was included within the USA World Cup 2010 Nike Away Shirt page:

This is the new United States 10/12 Away shirt design made by Nike which will be worn at the World Cup 2010 in South Africa. The new US 2010/2012 kits will be available through the FSC Shop after the official launch.

Legal people at Nike have registered photos of all national team shirts sponsored by Nike as a ?registered design? at the European Design Office.

Intellectual property specialist Diederik Stols explains: ?It is logical that sports companies around the world register just about anything in an attempt to monopolize the market for national shirts. Nike did just that. But they should better have registered the designs one day before the official presentation, because the designs are now publicly accessible via the Internet. This time around, Nike has leaked its own shirts?.

Eh...on a scale of 1-10 it's a 5. It's just okay.

"Every morning in Africa, a gazelle wakes up. It knows it must run faster than the fastest lion or it will be eaten. Every morning in Africa, a lion wakes up. It knows it must outrun the slowest gazelle or it will starve. It doesn't matter whether you're a lion or a gazelle. When the sun comes up, you'd better be running." - Unknown | 🌐 Check out my articles on jerseys at Bacon Sports 🔗

Interesting that Argentina have gone back to a royal blue color a la 1986, for the away kit.

I think the reason for the 'pocket' on the sleeves, it's there so that adidas can take into account the patches teams wear on the sleeves and not just plonk them over the 3 stripes.
