If you have to, add Cal State Bakersfield and hope that either them, Denver or Seattle wants to start football up (which is basically a no-chance-in-hell plan).Or you can always ask Houston Baptist. They want to play football and they need a new home after the Great West implodes.They have to look long term and to have markets in which people are in have to be their only saving grace when it comes to getting cable rights fees. Even is UT-A is a blip in the Metroplex radar, the WAC will have teams in Seattle, Denver, San Antonio, Dallas/Ft. Worth, and San Jose. Plus, the Metroplex has lots of apathy. Even after a decade, TCU has issues gaining inroads in Dallas and Collin Counies and vice versa for SMU in Tarrant County. Now UT-A is stuck in the middle next to the Cowboys and Rangers. Comments? Debates?This has been very hot today, but there are some inconsistencies. It started on Twitter, then went to radio, specifically Finebaum. Brent Zwerneman, who works for both the Houston Chronicle and the San Antonio Express-News has been very different than the reports from Aubrey Bloom.Bloom is a recent aTm grad, a former Bleacher report correspondent, and now works for a blog called Gigem247.com. They both declined.No they rejected the "commissions" to come and view the campuses. The word back in June was that they would get formal invites and accept after the 2011 football season. jkrdevil Posted August 12, 2011 Share Posted August 12, 2011 Sporting News is reporting that if TAMU goes VT or Missouri are the favorites if Oklahoma doesn't jump with A&M. As for the FSU rumors, I would imagine there are a few ACC schools that would jump ship at this point. They signed their new TV deal a year too soon before Comcast/NBC basically entered the picture. Afterwards the Pac-12 got a much bigger contract than them and even the Big East could trump them in TV dollars. I don't see the ACC having the leadership to be proactive in this mess to avoid. If Va Tech or FSU jump ship I hope the Maryland Big 10 rumors that were around last year were true and the B1G looks a MD as a reaction move. Florida would convince other schools to join in resisting, it has happened in the past. I just don't want this thing to get out of control (adding 4 instead of 2, causing a shift in divisions). Texas A&M and Oklahoma would be great additions for the SEC.After that, I'm not so sure any other additions make the SEC that much better. They certainly don't gain much by adding Virginia Tech or West Virginia or South Florida. Not so sure about Missouri, either. May as well take Oklahoma State along with Oklahoma, and maybe Florida State. No way expansion stops at one team, and likely doesn't stop at two either.And yeah....the Big XII will be gone by 2014, and if not...relegated to WAC-status. Similar with Missouri for St. Louis and Kansas City. Them adding FSU would be to try to cut into the Gators recruiting. But yea the Big XII is doomed.
