No Brazil. No Argentina. No fun.

Germany has taken the place of Brazil for "Most fun team to watch in the World Cup."

I mean really, look at the goals Germany's scored (not only today, but through the entire competition). If Brazil did that, people would be having sportsgasms right now & start waxing poetic about the beautiful game. :P

Who needs those South American giants.

When you still have The Netherlands, Uruguay, Germany and either Spain or Paraguay. Suspense I tell you, Suspense. Also we don't get to see Diego Maradona run around naked in Buenos Aires.

I for some reason see Argentina beating Brazil in the finals, with Uruguay over Paraguay for 3rd place.

I love when you do stuff like this...

Yeah, you need to stop.

Not to stick up for Will or anything, but this prediction doesn't really deserve the mockery he should get whenever he says Notre Dame should play 12 road games, UNC should go 40-0 or else be considered a failure, or that no Philadelphia players ever deserve to go to their respective All-Star games.

Does it remind you of the "The worst team from conference A is better than the best team from conference B" nonsense then? Because this was in the same vein.

Not really.

It's not that far-fetched a prediction, seeing as how all 5 South American teams advanced from group play, with four of the five winning their groups (and the fifth tying for first in their group). Entering the quarterfinals, the only South American team eliminated was the by-product of playing another South American team. Also consider that Germany and Spain lost a game in group play, and the Dutch were up against Brazil....it wasn't too crazy a thought.

Honestly, Hed, if you or anyone else not named willmorris had made the exact same statement, it wouldn't have even registered a blip on my radar, like Flame said, it's kind of willmorris' thing to make these kinds of statements. I'm almost ashamed to say it gives me a small amount of hope when these statements are proven wrong that there is a chance, however miniscule it may be, that he will stop the bat:censored: crazy dude act one of these days.

It's a shame to see the mad genius that is Maradona out of the World Cup, but like NEW.ERA said, no one will have to suffer seeing him run through Bueno Aires buttnaked (I don't care how in shape he is, that's still a scary thought).

As for Germany, they take the mantle of team to beat as of now. There are problems with both Uruguay and The Netherlands while Germany has been nearly unbeatable at this point despite a slip up in the group stage against Serbia.

Wow, I really thought Argentina was going to win the whole damn thing. At this point, I think it's an toss up between Spain, The Netherlands, and Germany. Maybe But I'm downplaying the "guays" too much.

Uruguay has the talent, Paraguay can't score but they've owned the first 14:00 minutes against Spain. :P

Downfall of Argentina.

1. The Back was just horrendous and heading in that was their weakness and it showed against a quality opponent.

2. Lionel Messi sure he's all flash with his dribbling but hitting posts and shooting over the net doesn't help your team.

3. Diego Milito had wonderful campaign in Italy and Maradona didn't even use him.

4. Maradona! Will he be back for 2014 hard to tell, I think he will but he still has much to learn when it comes to managing.

So I'm watching the Paraguay/Spain match on ABC just for the hell of it and I hate the color commentary, It just doesn't work for Football/Soccer in my opinion. CBC is doing a fine job with the commentary and studio analysis, Mike Tirico and Chris Fowler just don't do it for me.

What do the Americans think of it?
