Your Most Hated Teams... Why?

TrueYankee26

Recommended Posts

Very, very ironic that this thread was started (before it is in the Graveyard) from a poster with the handle of "TrueYankee26". The Yankees are at the front of the line globally of a team which possesses front-running fans. Montreal has 24 Stanley cups, yet they are not as arrogant as a "real" Yankee fan.

These are your most hated teams and I think it is based on your actual age. I think that you are under 30.

If you were older/more mature, you would not start a thread like this. So keeping that in mind:

*- The Canadiens have 24 titles yet you did not hate them. Yet you hate the 3 titled Devils. Confusing.

*- Both the Steelers, Cowboys, and even Raiders have gained a national fanbase for the last 40 years from national TV so why hate?

*- Big East football is not 20 years old, so you cannot complain about the VT/Miami series for even that long since you dislike that Miami went on probation and VT got better. THey are not hated...you are a HATER!

*- Outside of the Islanders, every team you "hate" over the last 25 years is a winner. You may want to start to be a semi-frontrunner. Culturally, it can be seen as acceptable since us minorities are the biggest "sports cultural frontrunners".

WHATEVER. I'M 19. I'm pretty mature for a 19 y/o.

Back to the thread, I'm a Ranger fan living in NJ so I have every right in hating the Devils. Other than 1 epic choke vs the Habs, they've done nothing to the Rangers in my lifetime.

Montreal fans ARE obnoxious though, they'll trash the city after even a little playoff win. Yankee fans don't do that.

Steelers beat Jets twice, Cowboys rival to Giants, Raiders... I don't hate them as much cause we're too bust fending off the Patriots. Plus I had sympathy for them for the Tuck Rule game.

Virginia Tech is a rival to miami since the 90's I have every right to hate the Chokies. Plus they're making the ACC look bad with their annual chokes.

I forgot to add the Dolphins on that list - They are cocky for an irrelevant team.

Don't hate on the fact that I have reasons for hating the teams I hate dfwabel. Who are you anyway?

Thank you for displaying that you are only 19.

As those of us who are older do not start "hate" threads.

'Hate' is not the best word in the world to use.

You can report me and hate me, but I will not report you, I just thunk that your age has appropriately indicated that you have a little idea of the word and how it can impact the sports which which you have only seen for 14 of the 19 years you have been alive see and remember.

You were just one the last time Montreal won the Cup.

I enjoy this thread. As a sports fan, you tend to hate certain teams, and he just wants to know who we hate... it's an interesting topic. Jeez

Thanks for sticking up for me man. I appreciate it.

I must be the weirdest sports fan in the world. Am I the only one who doesnt begrudge a franchise for their success as long as they do it within the parameters of the rules in the sport they play? I mean I used to get all worked up over the Yankees winning so damn much, but now, if my team can spend and win like they can, do it! I really only hate the rivals of my own teams, like the Penguins, Flyers, Phillies, Red Bulls, and Real Madrid. Lakers, Yankees, whoever in the NFL, I really dont care about.

and you have a barca logo in your sig? :P (buncha divers if you ask me!)

all kidding aside.

Generally annoyed with boston fans after the explosion of red sox hats that appeared all over the place in 2004. More annoyed with yankee fans complaining about red sox fans. There's a reason you hate each other: you're exactly the same! This annoyance spread to other Boston teams, NY teams, Pittsburgh, yada yada yada.

My sports hate belongs to the Chicago Bears and Minnesota Vikings. Hey Minnesota, you want some more of our old washed-up players? I hear Don Majkowski was feeling the itch to play again.

I only really hate two teams

MLB (NL) - San Francisco Giants: Their obnoxious fans and criminal ownership have been the bane of my existence since grade school (25 years now). Everyone I know is a Giants fan (and I grew up an A's fan) so I was always treated like the sports pariah as a kid. As an adult their fans have continued to be equally douchey particularly when it came to topics like Barry Bonds. The WS win has just put them over the top in terms of being asshats and increased their numbers exponentially with band wagoners many of whom didn't even like baseball 9 months ago. And their ownership's constant blocking of the A's trying to improve themselves borders on criminal action. Someday their PacSBATT Park will be flooded by global warming from that polluted little slough that gets them all hot and bothered and that will be a good day.

NFL - Oakland Raiders: They destroyed my childhood baseball stadium so that Al Davis could bring back his crap football team and his insane rantings. That and the Raider nation is the biggest collection of jackass wanna be criminals this side of your local street gang.

I "sports hate" a few other teams as any good fan does.

MLB (AL) - New York Yankees: What good baseball fan who isn't a Yankees fan can't stand the Yankees when they come to town? Overspending, over privileged team that they are.

NBA - LA Lakers: They robbed the Kings in 03... That and they're from LA.

NHL - LA Kings: They're from LA, I don't like LA, not one bit.

MLS - LA Galaxy: They're from LA and they're the San Jose Earthquakes main rival.

English Football - MK Dons: The bastard zombie version of former Wimbledon FC. They're not worthy to even be a team.

The only one who is egregious is Busquets, and I preferred Yaya Toure over him but the club doesnt agree with me. :D

If you have to qualify "I'm mature" in any way, then you're not.

Los Angeles Lakers: Their bandwagon fans can't even name a player who isn't kobe bryant. Trust me, one of my friends (laker fan) said he loved the lakers, i asked him to name one player on their roster who isn't kobe bryant, he said steve nash. idiot.

You can't judge a fanbase based on one friend of yours who lives in a different continent from the team...

Trust me, even people who don't watch basketball here in LA know who Pau Gasol is, or Lamar Odom.

I'm from Wisconsin and am therefore obligated to "hate" all teams from Illinois, but the only one that actually draws my ire is the Cubs. Not so much the team itself, but the insufferable douchebags who follow them to Miller Park... bunch of wannabe tough guys who have a couple beers in the parking lot and walk around picking fights. Milwaukee used to be known as one of the best places for traveling fans, but now a lot of the younger Brewers fans will throw beer, punches and who knows what else at anyone wearing a Cubs jersey... all things we never used to be known for... and I have to believe it has everything to do with the way Cubs fans have been acting for all these years since it only seems to happen when they're in town. I don't even go to the Cubs games anymore for fear of being in the wrong place at the wrong time and ending up in jail.

Probably the only time in my life that I've pumped my fist at the sight of a MPD officer :D

How is it even possible to hate "dislike" the Buffalo Bills? You might as well "dislike" the Toronto Raptors while you're at it. They're a division rival, after all.

This thread is starting to jump the shark, bigtime.

Come on, let's just have a little bit of fun with threads like this just once. The only reason it's heading in that direction is because of everyone (the majority being long-time posters) who are posting about how it's going to go down in flames, how stupid sports fans are for "hating" teams, and calling out people for their decisions on who they like/don't like. So really, can we please just go with it for once?

NFL Giants- Fans think they are better than the Jets, and when we are in the AFC championship game 2 years in a row they give us no credit and say when was the last time you won a superbowl.

Patriots- They get so much publicity and when they are defeated there is always an excuse they make up Injuries.

MLB Yankees every argument end with 27 and they are simply evil

Phillies 07 nd 08 did it 4 me

NBA

Celtics they always seem to win against the knicks no matter the circumstances

NCAA

SEC- They get all the good recruits, and the BCS was created for them.

My team plays them twice plus we've been rivals since the afl. And hey, Raptors hate for the Nets rose since VC bolted for NJ anyways. So it's all good.

You act like you're :censored:ing 12. You are the antithesis of maturity, and acting like a douche doesn't help your case.

Whatever...... and flaming members & calling them douches, that's like sooooooooooo mature as well.

Also, I'm done with this thread no matter what happens to this thread.

I'll even rank them from most hated on down.

1. Dallas Cowboys: I ABSOLUTELY CAN'T STAND this team. This goes back to when CBS dubbed them America's Team (more like America's #@%!), and it didn't help matters when Staubach threw the Hail Mary to Drew Pearson to beat the Vikes.

2. Chicago Bears: You'd think a Vikings fan like me would hate the Packers more than the Bears. But the Bears have these smug fans who still think Mike Ditka is their coach. Wake up, Bears fans. Cheeseheads are arrogant, too, but at least they'll offer you a beer while tailgating.

3. Chicago White Sox: Big rival for the Twins, so it's natural. Again, arrogant fans. What is it about Chicago fans that makes me want to barf?

4. New York Yankees: The most overexposed team in all of sports. Tiresome fans, too. I admit, though, I rooted for them in the early '60s as a kid when they had Maris, Mantle, Berra and the rest. Of course, those guys were easy to root for.

5. Boston Red Sox: The second-most overexposed team in all of sports. They may play in one of the nicest ballparks in all of baseball, but do I have to see that damn Green Monster every Sunday night during the summer?

6. Green Bay Packers: I pretty much said why in my complaints about the Bears.

7. Oakland Raiders: Al Davis would be enough reason to hate this team. Throw in Raider Nation and it just makes it worse.

8. North Carolina basketball: I don't know why. I've just always hated the Tar Heels.

9. Pittsburgh Steelers: I don't know why here, either. Maybe it's the ugly colors. Maybe it's winning so many Super Bowls. Maybe it's Steeler Nation. Maybe all put together.

10. Alabama football: I generally don't like the SEC in football, and Bama seems to epitomize the SEC.

The problem with sports is that you'll find douche bags that support every single team in any league. You'll also find really nice dudes, who are classy and respectable, that support every single team in any league. They key as a sports fan is to find people who are fans of teams you immensely dislike, and make sure these fans are nice and classy, then your opinion on these teams will change, or at least you'll just "sports hate" and not actually, you know, hate.

I'm a Lakers fan, but there are Lakers fans I've met who are complete douche-bags and I really don't like those people, regardless if they like my team as well. I have friends who are Celtic fans and they are really chill, and we enjoy a nice, friendly banter between each other. I still hate the Celtics, but that's because I hate their players and franchise, but I'll never start a fight over disagreement in sports fandom. That's stupid.

And also, with bandwagoners, most often you'll find that they only like front-runners and thus front-runners will have the most of them. The same fans who cause nearly everyone to hate the Lakers or Yankees, will immediately switch loyalties to the new champion/front-runner. Why don't you hate those teams as well? Or is it just your bitter memories are of that of Laker and Yankee fans instead of the new champions' fans?

People will just hate teams who are consistently good, just because they keep winning. Much more-so then they're obnoxious fans, which every team has.

Cowboys - Lakers - LAFC - USMNT - LA Rams - LA Kings - NUFC

Most of my least favorites are fueled by the fact they are my dad's favorites:

Los Angeles Lakers: They're my dad's favorite. Almost every day we end up fighting over how overrated Kobe is or why they won't make it to the NBA Finals or something. I can't stand Kobe, Pau, and Bynum. I couldn't wait for someone to derail them, and although I'm rooting for the Heat in these NBA Finals, the Dallas Mavericks hold a special place in my heart for what they did to L.A.

Baltimore Orioles: Another one of my dad's favorites. Our arguments about the Orioles aren't even serious: we both know how bad Baltimore has been recently.

New York Giants: One of my dad's favorite NFL teams (the other is Kansas City). Just hate them with a passion. I love watching them lose. Proves the Jets are the best team in the NY/NJ area.
