Bettman didn't get booed because the PA announcer was smart enough not to announce him by name. He just kinda appeared on the ice and started talking.

Story B: Red Wings go undefeated and score 100 goals in every game. They also beat a team comprised of Godzilla, the ghost of Abraham Lincoln, 2 Power Rangers and Betty White. Oh, and they played in the middle of Iraq on a military base. In the sand. With no ice. Santa gave them special sand-skates that allowed them to play in shorts and t-shirts in 115 degree weather. Jesus, Zeus and Buddha watched from the sidelines and ate cotton candy.

Not all players think that way. From what it sounds like, Jeff Carter wanted the F outta C-Bus the moment he stepped off the plane.

Well that's because Jeff Carter is the anti-christ.

And because he went from hitting on 18-year olds at the Jersey shore to.....Columbus.....

Would have been nice if the refs didn't decide this game, but, eh... NHL Refs... what are ya gonna do?

Congratulations Kings...

Don't worry, if Parise comes back, I wouldn't be surprised

to see the Devils win in the near future. Good team, they just need to find a goalie when Brodeur retires, and it will be all good.

They should get Chris Christie to be the goalie to take up the entire net!

Would that really be such an awful thing though? You go from picking up a bunch of wannabe guidos to one of the biggest college towns in the country where there is literally nothing to do but drink and :censored:. Sure it sucks from a hockey perspective, but that seems right up Jeff Carter's alley :P

To tell the truth, I actually like quite a few of the Kings players. Kopitar, Quick, Mitchell, Williams... I hate Brown and Doughty, but I don't care that much. The Kings were going to win one day, might as well get it over with. Anaheim already won, so it's no where as painful as if we hadn't won before.

Congrats LMU, Oddball, zpq, and I guess Cujo, who is kind of a Kings fan now. Congrats.

I just wish the crowd would've shown more emotion, hell, Anaheim showed 10x as much emotion when we won.

Yay! And now I get to watch stupid reporters interview bandwagons who just finished their beer at the Yardhouse! YAY

I'm calling it: No rioting will happen.

You my friend are a classy guy. As far as the crowd showing emotion, I guarantee you they were. They are still in the arena and local announcer Fred Roggin said that many were standing in the aisles with tears running down their faces. I was there at Game 3 and can tell you that as a whole the crowd is a controlled frenzy. I'm not sure what you wanted from the fan base. Everyone (players and announcers) to a man says and has been saying that Staples is the loudest building in the NHL. We aren't Raider or Laker fan, we win and celebrate with class.

Maybe we should keep arguing about who's got the best fans, because that will end well.

2012 STANLEY F***** CUP CHAMPIONS!!! YEAH BABY!!!

This was the song playing in my mind when the Cup was being carried to the ice:

I never realized that song was written for the Lombardi Trophy. Interesting.

Anyways, congrats to the Kings fans here.

Jeff Carter is definitely one of the least deserving Cup winners I can think of in recent memory, that's for sure.

Your team allowed Chris Crybaby Pronger hoist -- which alone negates any hate you have for Carter.

Alright Sharks, your turn now.

Seconded.

First of all, thank you for the complement. It's just hockey after all. :)

Secondly, when the Kings were hugging and celebrating, it seemed like a lot of fans were just standing around. Like I saw a few people behind the goal who were totally emotionless.... It was just a bit weird. Whatever, they were probably just the people who bought real expensive seats just to be seen. I'm sure the fans I didn't see were going nuts (especially in the 300's).

Pronger at least played the full season with the Ducks, and Pronger also played a full season plus a trip all the way to Game 7 of the Cup Final with Edmonton before that (and from the reports, it was his wife that really wanted out of Edmonton). Carter played all of what 3 and 1/3 months with LA after moping around in Columbus for 5ish months. He went from the worst team in the league to Cup Champion because he was sad. Their situations aren't that similar.

Nah, I think they still do. And even in the playoffs, he didn't make a huge impact until that Phoenix series. (A series they probably could have won without him.)

Damnit, I misremembered the Bryzgalov quote and I was just about to tell you that you forgot to add a "Why you heff to be mad?" but then I rewatched the video and saw what he actually said.

Mighty Ducks of Anaheim (CHL - 2018 Orr Cup Champions) Chicago Rivermen (UBA/WBL - 2014, 2015, 2017 Intercontinental Cup Champions)

King's Own Hexham FC (BIP - 2022 Saint's Cup Champions) Portland Explorers (EFL - Elite Bowl XIX Champions) Real San Diego (UPL) Red Bull Seattle (ULL - 2018, 2019, 2020 Gait Cup Champions) Vancouver Huskies (CL)

But Chris Pronger is probably the 2nd best defenseman of our generation. He deserves it even though he's kind of a dick.

Plus, he didn't whine and ask for a trade mid-season....

He did it before the season. ;)

Pronger: Bitched his way out of a miserable hockey city to join a Cup winner.

Carter: Bitched his way out of a miserable hockey city to join a Cup winner.

The roads they took may not have been exact, but the bottom line is that they both got their names on the Cup by holding their teams hostage and being a real asshat about it.
