oldschoolvikings
Rice is doing their best Oregon impression today Wow, that's about as blatant as it gets. I am getting tired of these college football trends. One school does something different and then 20 other schools do they exact same thing. Not to mention that one is supposed to be duck wings and the other an owl...and yet they look the same.I'm gonna go on a huge limb here. I really like these. The contrast between navy and white looks a lot better than the chrome stuff Oregon tries. I think Rice looks great today.I agree. If you ignore the fact that its obviously a blatant rip, they actually make it look better. The simple navy on white beats the hell out of chrome on God-knows-what.As always, in design, simple beats needlessly complicated. http://dstewartpaint.blogspot.com/
wonderbread
why don't they use the same wings that are on the undershirt rather than ripping of oregon, be a little unique about it at least

DS729
UCLA in those awful blackout uniforms, at least Tech isn't the one to blame for the horrible uniform matchup, it would be alot better if Tech went with the regular maroon helmet, the one without the stripes.Pictures:VT:Tech's worn the same uniform on their last 3 road games. wonderbread
Isn't Rice an Adidas school? Wouldn't that be trademark infringement?adidas doesn't make the helmets, if anything it would be against rice, but it is a slightly different wing pattern that is also used by high schools

But as close as you can get. And usually when teams do these one off helmets, it has nothing to do with the jersey manufacturer, as they get the helmets from an independent company like HGI.If Nike copyrighted that design (which I'm guessing they did, as it would be stupid for a company that size not to) then they could sue for infringement. Lights Out
Rice couldn't just bring this back? POTD: 2/4/12 3/4/
shaydre1019
Personally I don't think you can beat Oregons yellow helmets but those rice ones look good. Don't like that they copied them, but it still looks good. Thought Oregon looked okay last night, didn't like the high green socks everyone seemed to be wearing. Green pants and white socks would've looked a lot better and I wish they incorporated more yellow into that set.

TornadoGTS
On the closeup of the Rice helmet you can see its the same wings, they just stretched/skewed them Facebook: CustomSportsCovers Twitter: CSCovers Quote No because when the Irish came to Ireland and first came in contact with the leprechaun people, they didn't take their land away and force them to move west. Instead, the two groups learned to assimilate peacefully. However, certain tribes of the leprechaun refused to taint the pure blood and moved north into the forests of Ireland, only to be seen rarely, usually at the same time of a rainbows appearance and occasionally at the factories of Lucky Charms. DS729
They're the same wings, just toyed enough with to where they didn't infringe any copyright that or the got Oregon/Nike's permission (very unlikely though). On another note, the Chick-Fil-A might be the best looking bowl game I've seen so far, I used to really hate Duke and UNC's uniforms but now I'm starting to fall in love (especially with UNC).Duke's going with Blue-White-BlueA&M has the Maroon-Maroon-White, I wouldn't actually mind it if they went with the monochrome.
