rvrdgsfn
According to sources, the BOG is meeting on Wednesday without the Seattle or Sacramento groups and a press conference will happen next Friday in New York.Looks like by next week someone will be happy while another city will be bitter. DG_ThenNowForever
http://seattletimes.com/html/localnews/2020793904_nbavotexml.htmlAnd now, the NBA is punting again. I'm guessing expansion is coming onto the table. These are two good markets and the NBA has had unbalanced conferences before. If they could find a way for each team to pay some sort of fee, all the better. If I were in charge, I would take these two competing purchase/arena construction offers for the gift horses they are, and make it work in both cities. An expansion draft is is PitA, but so what? (Plus, I'd rather have each team's fourth best player than the scrubs in Sacramento. You're guaranteed one grizzled or high character vet -- maybe Ray Allen comes home?) 1 hour ago, ShutUpLutz! said: and the drunken doodoobags jumping off the tops of SUV's/vans/RV's onto tables because, oh yeah, they are drunken drug abusing doodoobags
rvrdgsfn
Hopefully the delay will lead to that. That way everyone wins, both deserve a team & hopefully the owners realize this.
DaytonBlue
Also, if you give Seattle an expansion team, they would have to play a shorter time or not at all at Key Arena, thus saving money for any necessary temporary upgrades. Seattle just needs to secure a team. I don't think their deal is contingent on said team actually playing in Seattle. So as long as the league grants them an expansion team (which for all intents is a team) they'd be good to go.
Lights Out
This isn't exactly breaking news, but TJ Simers is a truly pathetic hack in every sense of the word.T.J. DaytonBlue
An expansion team would have to be at least in 2014-15, if not 2015-16. If they get one signed, sealed, and delivered, I think Seattle City Council would approve. FiddySicks
So one of my good buddies went to the final game at Arco/Power Balance/Sleeptrain Arena/Pavilion/Gymnasium tonight and held up this sign.Well, at least if the Kings go down, at least they didn't go down without a sense of humor. Lights Out
It gets better... some highlights from this hack's most recent article:The cow bell crowd came to beg some more for NBA attention, maybe the last Kings' game to be contested on this prairie before a move to Seattle. While the local yokels remained here in their seats long after the game was over, chanting, "Here we stay," there's a lot more basketball to be played in Los Angeles.A Blake Griffin tip was then the prettiest thing you will ever see in Sacramento.Del Negro's name should probably be mentioned in consideration for coach of the year honors.I won't even link to the article because, frankly, he doesn't deserve the pageviews. If anyone's really desperate to read his crap, Google his name, you'll find it. POTD: 2/4/12 3/4/

So where the hell are the Kings off to?I don't know if you have followed this entire saga or not, but Sacramento has put together an ownership group and secured a stadium plan. If this is true, they are basically telling the Maloofs to piss up a rope and forcing them to sell to the Sacramento group. And, if the NHL was waiting for a return of the Sonics to piggyback the Coyotes into the new arena, those plans are gone now. This may be the domino fall which sends the Coyotes to Quebec, maybe as soon as this offseason.
