Long time looker, but first time poster...I am an AutoCAD instructor in Mechanical Engineering & Architecture, but love to "create" logos by inventing teams & leagues by making up cities, names, colors & the images of other creators. I have downloaded Inkscape and started messing around with online tutorials to do my own logos. In one of my collections, I have a team named the LAS VEGAS SILVERADOS. With Nevada being the Silver State and still a bit of 'wild west' imagery to most, a miner or cowboy type of character comes to mind, but still easy to mix in the glitz of Vegas.

The 51's have a name the team contest available to residents of Nevada. They probably will decide the new MLB affiliation sometime in the offseason as the Mets are moving their AAA to Syracuse in 2019.

I believe the Nationals will be moving in, the Mets displaced them moving into Syracuse.

I mean, just go for broke at this point, why not? Brandiose will come up with something equally as dumb.

If you've done a concept, I wouldn't mind seeing it. You should post it in the Concepts forum.

Its not that easy, there are 5-8 available AAA affiliates that have agreements that expire after the 2018 season.

Silver Stars sounds really 2005 WNBA.

Smart is believing half of what you hear. Genius is knowing which half.

No one can negotiate until the current affiliations end, but the leading candidates to end up in Las Vegas are the A's and the D'Backs.

Been a while since I last read up on it, but when the Mets announced they were moving in, at the time it didnt seem like many teams were going to be moving. Thats how the Mets got stuck out in Las Vegas, not much opportunities to move.

As noted above, there are at least five additional teams whose affiliation agreement is expiring.  That’s six opportunities to move.

In the past, Las Vegas is the one affiliate everyone tried to avoid but one would have to be stuck with.  That is changing now with their new facilities.

Summerlin is a neighborhood of Las Vegas, so yes...they’re literally still within the city of Las Vegas. However, Summerlin has no real identity, except for the fact it was founded by Howard Hughes. Maybe they could play off of that fact?
