St Louis won't be an easy out this year. They have the depth and the bitter taste of previous failures to go on a run.

If by run you mean, win the first two, lose the next four, yes, they will go on a run. And it will continue to be so until the end of time!

A few pages back we were talking about playoff series formats and what kind was better. How about a 1-2-1-unknown?

The Calgary Hitmen are playing the Medicine Hat Tigers in round two of the WHL playoffs. The Hitmen are the higher seed but game 1 on Friday will be played in Medicine Hat because the Saddledome is booked. Games 2 and 3 will be in Calgary and game 4 will return to Medicine Hat. Then games 5,6 and 7 aren't set yet because of the Flames potentially making the playoffs.

Holy crap, what a bad loss for the Islanders. They needed one point to clinch a playoff spot and scored with 1:44 and 0:28 left to tie it. Then Halak lets in a terrible goal with 3 seconds left to lose it in regulation. They can still clinch a spot if Ottawa loses, but I like Ottawa!

Blues up against a ref show again tonight. Minutes after the Blues' Paul Stastny had a goal called back because a Jets player dropped their stick on a stick lift (called a slash), TJ Oshie was sent to the box for a high-sticking double minor when his helmet cut the face of a Jets player during a shoulder to shoulder hit.

Blues weren't playing particularly well and were down 1-0 on their own doing. But they did tie the game. Just not officially. It seems like once a week with this garbage lately.

Yeah the refs are rigging the game for a team whose U.S. market consists of some scattered contrarians in North Dakota.

Minnesota set to win tonight and clinch, so their fans can stop being so passive-aggressive about how bad their +45-since-January hockey team is.

♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫

Rigging? Didn't say anything of the sort.

But they did completely screw the Blues out of at least a point tonight. It was the worst officiated hockey game I've ever seen. Unbelievable.

The only saving grace is it hurts LA.

Did Ondrej Pavelec just shut out two playoff teams on back to back nights in a crucial playoff push?

1) That can't be Ondrej Pavelec

2) Oh my we're all so close

Who do you want to play? Turns out all the playoff teams are tough matchups. I'd like to play the one that had the worst season AND isn't Los Angeles or Chicago.
