If the Royals win it all, they're gonna become the new Cardinals -the teams that always comes back and fans of other teams will come to hate.

All it takes is a title and the Royals will go from loveable to 'Why won't they go away?'

If the Sabres were to ever get it together, would you go away?

1) don't begrudge a person who loves sports and wants to enjoy them as much as possible.

2) don't act like, if any of us had pockets as deep as that guy, that some of us wouldn't be trying, or wanting, to do the exact same thing that he does.

You mean dress in bright orange + not pay attention to the game + busy with my phone or chatting with other spectators.

Yeah, i am gonna do any of that.

1. How he dresses: So what? The orange jersey and visor has become his signature look.

2. Phone: Ok, that's the one thing I can fault him for. I've gone on about it before about how I don't understand people who spend the entire game on their phones.

3. Chatting with other fans: He's a celebrity, man. Of course people will want to talk to him. I would if I could afford to sit where he does :P

People in those seats pay 1000´s of $ to sit there, they don´t care about that jerk. He is the one running around, changing seats and getting into people´s faces. That old man is a true attention whore.

If everyone in those front row seats, in every stadion, wore orange, i am sure he would go away.

Couldn't agree more. If I had the cash, I'd be sitting right next to Marlins guy. I'd be the guy with the BasicallyaSportsShow.com shirt, hat, jacket, and sign. B) Also, can't remember which game it was, but I thought the guy wearing the horse head was pretty funny. These is sports, boys. It's supposed to be fun.

I'm all for Marlins guy going to games and being a rich douchebag. I'm simply against him wearing so MUCH orange. Wear an orange cap or a yellow wristband or something. Wearing orange everywhere draws too much of the eye. Knock it off.

Also I'm not going to watch the Cubs game much tonight, I don't think. This Bears game is killing my desire to enjoy sports, and the Cubs seem to do better when I'm not watching.

If the Mets are going to win this series, I hope they do it quickly. The last thing I'd want to see is another Bartman-like chapter added to the Cubs book of woe. Losing in 4 or 5 games is quick and mostly painless.

That said, there is still a lot of baseball to be played. It ain't over yet.

Mets made a deal with the Devil, didn't they?

I've really been trying to ignore you, but I'm sorry what the :censored: does this even mean??

This Mets team has been like this for the last few months; a pretty good offense, with a nice ability to always have at least one player who's 'hot', combined with really good pitching, especially from the starters. It's not even like they're fluking wins, or have tons of guys who've suddenly come good out of nowhere; no, this team has lots of fairly young talent in it, many of whom were highly touted as prospects. This Mets team a good, well-constructed baseball team playing fairly near the peak of their game (holy hell it's rare and nice to be able to say that about my own team), and I fail to comprehend what you find problematic with them.

------

I don't know why you are negative about EVERYTHING, but if it's real then at the very least stop watching sports, because evidently they will never ever be able to make you happy, and if you are trolling, or engaging in some sort of schtick, then please stop, because you are contributing nothing.

ADD ON-EDIT: You're basically the complete opposite of Crownking/Fishplatter, in that he is so positive about everything I'm convinced it's an act, and you are so negative about everything I'm convinced it's an act.

Series isn't over until the fat lady sings, but the Cubs ran into a brick wall of pitching that is playing like they already have a ticket punched for the big show. It's unfortunate, but what the hell are you supposed to do against that? Young upstart Cubs are getting humbled. I hope if they do indeed lose this series that they use it as a learning tool and grow hungrier to take the next step. That being said, if you win two at home this series becomes upside down and the walls could come crumbling. Baseball is a weird sport.

Well, this did happen the other day

But yeah, this series is far from over. Murphy won't hit like this forever, and Wrigley's going to be a madhouse. Collins is pressing all the right buttons right now. They hardly hit-and-run all year. They do it in the first tonight with a slumping David Wright and he doubles.

Postseason baseball is amazing.

Especially w/ the Orioles' poor season, I didn't really watch much regular season baseball. Fast forward a couple of months and here I am watching Mets-Cubs instead of SNF.

Last night had to hurt for Chicago.

I figured if Syndergaard could match Arrieta for five or six innings and the Mets could win the bullpen game they would have a shot. I wasn't expecting Arrieta to look like a back end rotation pitcher in over his head against a tough lineup, which is exactly what he looked like for the first three innings.

He finally did look like he settled down in the fourth but by then the pitch count was too high for him to go much longer and the damage had been done.

Now the Cubs have to bank on the back of end of their rotation not just keeping pace with the Mets pitching, but beating them in order to have a chance. That starts with needing Kyle Hendricks to out pitch Jacob deGrom in game three and Hendricks is a guy who just hopes gives you six good innings in these types of games, where as deGrom has been the Mets best and most consistent starter both in the regular season and in the playoffs. That's why I said if you beat Jake Arrieta even in one game you probably win the series and we're about to find out if that's true.

Even though both series are at 2-0, you get the sense that the Jays are still in it, while the Cubs may have just blown their best shot to get back in the series. At this point their chances are of getting swept are just as high as them coming back to win this series.

Honestly, I'd be pretty surprised if the Cubs didn't get swept after sleepwalking through games with their best pitchers on the mound, and I'd put money on it that it's not coming back to Citi Field. The Mets just seem to be rounding into form at the perfect time, while the Cubs look dead. That's a BAD sign for Chicago.

Baseball is weird, no doubt. But I'm not sure it's 04 Red Sox weird at this point.

I think they ran into two good pitchers who got the job done, while their good pitchers underperformed. Good pitching can make good hitting look "dead" in a hurry, especially in the playoffs.

Are they in trouble? Absolutely, but they say a series doesn't start until a road team wins. So either the Cubs are up 3-2 heading back to New York, or... the series got started. :)

And that Wrigley crowd better be up and stay up.

They just showed Tulo on FS1 and he was rocking the white paneled Jays cap in warm ups. Looks like they're probably gonna bust those out tonight to help change up their luck a little bit.

EDIT: I guess not. Bummer.
