Which scarf did you get?

No pics, but it says New York City FC INAUGURAL SEASON in a serif font on one side and NewYorkCityFC in Helvetica on the other. Scarf is light blue.

It's pretty slick. The black replica jersey looks really nice in person too.

Surprise of the day? Finding limited out of date Sounders merchandise in Times Square.

I really like that one. I very nearly bought it when I was buying my jacket from the team site (which came in about a week ago and I must say, it's damn nice).

That was a sweet goal from Mix, but I'm kinda bummed that NYCFC couldn't come away with the 3 points today. Overall, it was a good start to the season and I'm looking forward to seeing more from this team.

I wasn't pulling for anyone so I was glad to see Mix and Kaka score. I think Mix is gonna be great for MLS.

Orlando wins 1-1!

Heh, but that is seriously how I feel right now. Crazy awesome game. The crowd was insane. I haven't been so excited for a season opener in any sport for a long time, but the amount of hype and passion for OCSC in this city is amazing. You'd think soccer was the number 1 sport in America from what it's like around town here. Man what a game though.

The defense is going to be a big concern though imo, we'll see how they answer against Houston friday.

From the other side of the pitch, I was happy to come away with the draw after a very uninspiring first half. And very proud of the New Yorkers who flew down with me to see history made.

That's me in the top hat, holding one side of the flag.

One of the most amazing sporting experiences I've ever had.

It's funny. I remembered you mentioning that you were going down for the game, and when they cut to that shot, I thought to myself "Goth is probably in there somewhere". :P

But seriously, I'm glad that you enjoyed it. I sure would've loved to go. Did the Orlando supporters give you guys a hard time?

Orlando City's supporters were pretty well mic'ed by ESPN today. They also swear a lot.

I've enjoyed FS1's MLS coverage. Alexis Lalas is a good commentator, and while I prefer Grant Wahl's writing to his on-screen reporting, he at least knows what he's talking about. This new ESPN/FS1 package is shaping up to be pretty awesome.

Also awesome has been what Martins and Dempsey have been doing tonight. They haven't scored a millions goals, but three so far is pretty nice. The Revs really miss Jermaine Jones though. It's incredible how much he turned the team around last year, and how obviously missed he is tonight.

Eurosport has bought the broadcasting rights for the MLS in Germany. That means many games can be watched in German free-TV now. That's awsome!

I'm a simple person, I have a pixelated David Beckham as profile photo since 2010.

Increased coverage in the UK too this season. I was surprised though at the number of people on my Twitter feed who were watching the Orlando-New York match last night. Most seem to have rather enjoyed it.

Quite a few have nailed their colours to the mast of one of the two new 'City' suffixed teams - perhaps they should start an aggressive marketing campaign to attract disaffected Hull City supporters? ;)

Sounded looked REALLY solid last night. Good to see them come out of the gates strong.

Not too much. A lot of booing as we walked from the bus into the stadoum, some jeering in the section, but just words. There've been some nasty incidents with the Ruckus lately, but we didn't have any trouble at all. Their late equalizer might have helped - everybody walked out of there feeling pretty good. ;)

Shouldn't be hiding my lush head of salt-and-pepper hair under that topper, I guess.

Embrace the salt-and-pepper . . . says someone with more salt than pepper these days.
