That's not a hockey jersey.

That's a piece of Disney merchandise.

That's something that a cartoon character would wear.

When I watch the Ducks I want to see a hockey team.

If I wanted to see Disney paraphernalia I would watch Disney On Ice.

That is, in fact, two hockey jerseys!

Was a piece of Disney merchandise. Believe it or not, they no longer own the trademark to that uniform and haven't for more than ten years! Not that they'd actually do anything with it anyway

Pretty amazing that in spite of prominently and blatantly featuring Donald Duck, as opposed to a mask that vaguely resembles him, nobody has a problem with this logo.

I really think its only liked for nostalgia purposes, if that logo came out today everyone would be trashing it.

Perhaps. But what can be done about that? Should the league do a redesign every decade to keep up with what's in? I think having a mix of different "flavors" is healthy for a 30(1) team league.

It is what it is. One of my favorite logos is the Islanders, even though i know it's a terrible logo.

Unpopular opinion alert: while I have a fondness for the nostalgic classic Mighty Ducks logo, at the same time I don't see anything wrong with the look of the current brand. And those prototypes are all awful for the NHL level.

That is simply beautiful.  Whether it resembles a Disney cartoon or not is irrelevant.  A good design is a good design and this is so far ahead of the current set it's embarrassing.  Speaking of the current set, how bad is the current striping configuration.  Talk about an overly convoluted design.  Thank god they unveiled that orange alternate.  Closest thing they've had to a good jersey since 2006.

Those diagonal stripes reek of the 90s, though. Most of us probably agree that it's a good design and those colors together make a good color palette. Some people just don't agree that it's timeless and I can sorta see why.

It's often that expansion teams push the envelope on traditional designs knowing that they have no traditional "heritage" to reference nor offend.

Teams like the Raptors for instance took a very over the top approach to their expansion branding, ironically, 20 plus years later it's still by far what the team is best known for outside Toronto...

It's not any more 90's than their current "swoosh" striping.  Besides, having 90's influenced stripes makes sense for a team established in 1994.
