Why is that necessary? 2 Quote On 11/19/2012 at 7:23 PM, oldschoolvikings said: She’s still half convinced “Chris Creamer” is a porn site.) Ridleylash
If Lacob buys the team, he's not gonna keep them in Sacramento or move them to Vegas; he's going to bring them back to Oakland and get right back to negotiating with Oakland for Howard Terminal. His intent from the beginning of his interest in the A's has been keeping them in the Bay Area, so if he buys the team it's under the pretense of having them in the Bay Area alongside the Warriors. That's what will happen if/when Vegas fails to materialize, most likely; I don't see Fisher being competent enough to not this up considering his track record.

They’d rather a crap situation to no jobs for a team’s worth of players. I would think this is the case. They may also want renovations to Sutter Health Park enough to satisfy their demands. They were not going to sign off to the Blue Jays playing in Buffalo until Sahlen Field underwent renovations (otherwise, they probably would have recommended that the Blue Jays play at their Spring training facility in Dunedin, Florida for all of 2020 and 2021). I have no idea as I haven't heard anything about them outside of this thread. If the answer is no, then they could shelf them for 4 years and temporarily expand rosters to make up the difference (and once they do that, there's no going back, so long-run they'd gain jobs). The real damage is to the minor leaguers who wouldn't have a team to be called up to. I'm not sure there's a way to work around that problem. As a NHL fan I find it annoying that the Sharks play in San Jose instead of the "real" Bay Area. If only they could move to the Oakland Arena. Sigh. That would give Oakland a major league presence once again. Or the Chase Center

I guess the same questions could be asked about the post renovation Oakland Arena, for that matter.

BBTV
meanwhile, Phillies managing partner said that he doesn't see why the team couldn't play in the stadium for 100 years. Just figure out a way to build a giant umbrella and install some space heaters and I'm down. Sykotyk
I know that Utah now apparently has a law that Utah has to be the name and not Salt Lake. But it would be pretty cool to see the Salt Lake Bees have the Salt Lake A's across town. 1 2

Just curious.
