YELDARBfield
It also looks like the Pensacola Blue Wahoos are no longer the only team in baseball, or the Southern League for that matter, to utilize blue + pink/magenta/fuchsia/whatever as a supporting color. Odd considering their relative proximity along the gulf. Quote Twitter • Facebook • Instagram • LinkedIn • Tumblr
FiddySicks
(Sorry in advance for large photo sizes) I'm having a hard time deciding if the High Desert Mavericks (Single-A Rangers affiliate) need to rebrand, or if they should stick with what they've got and run with it proudly.Because at first glance, this......looks incredibly dated. But when you look at their ballpark atmosphere......the logo and identity package's desolate datedness actually fits in pretty well with the very remote setting in the Mojave Desert. The stadium is on the very outer reaches of Adelanto, CA, a "suburb" of the larger city of Victorville.I went to a High Desert Mavs game with Cujo a few summers ago, and I was surprised how much I liked their park. It's old and in the middle of nowhere, but that's part of the charm. It's definitely the crappiest park in the California League, but it's oddly fitting for low level minor league baseball. The Mojo Maniac
If the San Antonio Missions' (Padres Double-A) Facebook page isn't screaming rebrand, I don't know what is: https://www.facebook.com/samissionsTheir uniform and logo set may be due for an update, but I've always liked it. It's seemed like one of the mainstays of the high minor leagues. Thoughts? Quote From San Berdoo to Kalamazoo.

The Mojo Maniac
Those colors do look great The "Tom Sox" script does look pretty wonky. Creative name though; up here in Washington there's a collegiate summer team called the Wenatchee AppleSox (major apple-producing region). "Sox" is one of the most versatile suffixes in all of the sports world.Too bad there's no "Charlottesville" anywhere in the identity, but that must lie in the fact that it's a very long name to write out in any kind of script. Are those color swatches at the bottom of the easel the hat designs? If so, they might've been better off getting rid of the standalone "T" one--looks silly since there are two "TS's", and perhaps a "C" for Charlottesville could work instead of the standalone T. The Mojo Maniac
Well, the day has arrived for the Missions. Their presumed identity change will take place a 2 pm Central time. Too bad there's no video feed of the event to be found (not even a single mention of the event on the team website). What's hilarious is all the newbie/casual fan comments on the Facebook status: i.e. "Oooh, are they going to be a Dodgers' farm team again?!" When it was made clear that their affiliation with San Diego was extended, and the affiliation musical chairs is long over.Oh, and don't forget the "Are they going to be a Triple-A league now??" comments. The Mojo Maniac
Not sure I like it. I don't hate it, but I'm getting kind of tired of all the Brandiose-esque nonsense. I thought what they had was perfectly fine. Could've stood for a few tweaks, but another navy team in the Texas League? Sigh. Quote From San Berdoo to Kalamazoo. gosioux76
The imagery is fine. I dislike the use of a cream-colored wordmark on both gray and white. Looks out of place.
Gothamite
Not a big fan - what's not too boring is too cutesie. Like the Davy Crockett jalapeño pepper mascot costume, though. Bmac
I was REALLY hoping for a black and gold theme like the teaser image, I thought that would've looked slick. I'm talking minimal white, mostly black trimmed in gold and gold on black. Maybe I'll throw together a concept of what I'm picturing. The Mojo Maniac
Looking at social media, the response seems tepid at best. Gothamite and Bmac, you both hit the nail on the head: definitely too cutesy, and I think sticking with black and gold would have been much better. Also, looking at the four hats there are a few issues: 1) why do the more colorful caps keep getting placed with the road jerseys, and the home jerseys get stuck with the boring solid cap? 2) squatchee on the road cap should be silver to match the bill (Astros, I'm looking at you), and 3) while fun, the jalapeno logo just seems out of place with the rest of the set.My grade: C- Quote From San Berdoo to Kalamazoo. jaha32
I find it to be a nice upgrade from their previous look, which was a nice idea but I always disliked its heavily shadowed text under an uninspired-looking Alamo. Since the Alamo isn't a tall building, the slant doesn't really bother me as much as it would if it were a skyscraper. And although I find the red in the chili pepper S to be a bit much, I do like the Davy Crockett hat, which exactly the kind of thing we've come to expect from Brandiose. They saved all the "clever cutesy" stuff for the cap and alt logos and kept the primary looking relatively clean and traditional.
