Cardinals are an incredibly stupid organization. You really couldn’t get ANYTHING for him in a trade? Useless team.

From what I’ve been reading the contract that he had was the reason why he couldn’t get traded. Plus a lot of trades had them footing the contract or half the contract. The most that many more trades didn’t give more than a sixth round pick. Plus this saves them 19.5 Million dollars that can go towards Budda Baker.

With the first pick of the 2024 NFL Draft, the Arizona Cardinals select.....Caleb Williams, QB, USC.

(Kyler Murray throws his PS5 controller in disgust).

I don’t think they will have the first pick. Kyler Murray will be out the first half of the year annd get used to a new offense . He’ll be safe as he is still rehabbing and participating in drills.  Caleb Williams is basically a younger Kyler imo any ways. The defense is better than what people perceive and I think they will be top 5. I do think that they will be going Offensive Line and Defense. Because they do have some good options on offense.

Hop had one good year with Cardinals as he was injured or suspended. Yes the Cards were stupid giving him that contract, they were trying to trade him, but no one bit, as the last regime put the new regime in this predicament.

Well if you're claiming "literally never", then, IIRC, he refused to talk to media after the Super Bowl, placing the burden on his teammates.  He complained to kids about women that can't cook, can't clean, and don't know when to be quiet, and questioned how a female reporter can talk about football.  But maybe I took that out of context... like he claims everything he's ever said has been (despite full context being available on recordings.)

I couldn't care less about TD dances and taunting.  In fact, I think there should be more of that.  But I think it's beyond fair to question his character.... and maturity.  And that would make me question if he's the kind of role model I'd want for a young and impressionable player.

But I don't follow the team, so if people that do disagree, then that's cool - I hope he re-signs there.  But the first time he has to play and gets louder cheers than the starter... then starts going on about how he should start, and the whole thing crumbles down, we'll see how that goes.

I have no problem with a guy being confident or cocky.  A player should be.  And I love guys that add character and excitement to the game - TO was one of my favorite players.  I just don't think that makes for a good backup QB.

So he's immature for literally saying nothing? And how on Earth do you know what he's saying to his kids? And yeah, she threw the word "routes" into a question that didn't at all need it just to make it seem like she knew football. So he roasted her for it. And maybe you  don't have a problem with guys being confident but NFL GMs clearly do. Guys like Marcus Mariota, Matt Ryan, or Sam Darnold will never run out of chances because they make NFL coaches, GMs, and owners feel good about themselves. Guys like Cam, Baker, and even a Malik Willis make them feel threatened. So they can't wait to put them in their place.

Way to come back nearly 2 months later with a take that would make Steven A smith and skip bayless blush. Literally nothing you said is factually supportable, or just outright lies.

It's one of the more baffling posts I've read in recent weeks, and that includes one where a guy told someone to essentially have intimate relations with a poster of Lebron James.

NFL: Actively promotes and encourages gambling and betting on games and players

Players, coaches, team personnel: Actively gamble and bet on games and players

Also the NFL:

I’m not sure why everyone keeps coming back to this as if it’s some brilliant point. Yes, the NFL promotes gambling to their customers.  Yes, the NFL doesn’t want their players to gamble.  So?

Hey, if I own a bar, I’m going to sell alcohol to my customers.  That being said, I’m still going to be pissed if my bartenders get drunk on the job.

Fair enough point, but it’s easier to stop ~20 employees than it is to keep an eye on ~2000 employees

"The nation is taking notice"?  Of what?  Renaissance of existing communities?  They're making the stadium out to do everything other than cure cancer.  I really hate these fake domes.  The "shaded canopy" is going to make the games look indoors, especially since it's completely enclosed.  Say what you want about the Jags, but their games always have great natural light that bring out the best of the uniforms.

Well, you can start by suspending a handful of the idiots and see if that helps the rest grow a few brain cells.

It's really annoying how the same tired "point" (that's not really a point) gets made whenever an athlete gets suspended for being a complete idiot.

Lifetime bans for betting on your own league seems more than fair, considering what the leagues have to lose.  And the players are already benefiting from the gambling partnerships because that's REVENUE.  They're just stupid... but they get hit in the head for a living, so...

The only thing I can understand questioning is why it's ok to bet on other sports as long as it's not done from within the team facility, but if you pull out your phone and bet on a baseball game from within the team offices, that's a violation.  I definitely understand why that's flying a little too close to the sun, but I can understand arguments against that part of the rule.

No one wants to watch a sport if there is a widespread (i.e. not some low-budget horsehockey YouTube video about how the NFL is rigged)  perception that the players are on the take. They get money from the league from ludomaniacs via revenue sharing as it is so trying to win money from gambling is like dipping into the cookie jar after eating a whole pack of Oreos.

Plus, you don't make examples of players because you think you can catch everyone. You make examples out of players so that the rest understand that if they get caught there WILL be punishment. It's not the harshness of punishment that's a deterrent. It's the certainty of it.

wtf?

Quote

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- If the Jacksonville Jaguars have to play their home games elsewhere during proposed renovations to TIAA Bank Field, one option could be Daytona International Speedway.

DIS president Frank Kelleher released a statement to The Daytona Beach News-Journal over the weekend that he and team representatives will meet soon to discuss potentially playing at the 101,500-seat facility 92 miles south of the Jaguars' current stadium

I realize that distance doesn't mean the same in all parts of the country, and driving culture is different, but isn't 92 miles pretty far regardless of where you are?

For comparison, both M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore and Met Life Stadium in East Rutherford are 96 miles from Lincoln Financial Field in Phila.

Milwaukee County Stadium to Lambeau Field was 119 miles. 96 isn't far at all.

Eastern states are small, so those borders come quickly. If you want FAR for the Jaguars, you're talking London.

It's where I sit.
