timjameskohler
Green on green with white socks isn't terrible for the Jets. It kind of puts some more emphasis on white, which SHOULD be their secondary color and not black. Tampa's red over pewter is one of the best looks in the entire league. Why does it only show up two times a year?? I'm hoping for Dallas in blue over silver against Detroit in Honolulu blue pants. Knowing them, though, I bet we get both teams in white leotards.

The huge block numbers hold it back in my opinion which is why I favor swapping them out for the current rounded numbers. I don't think the color swap has worked so well for the Bears. The sleeve stripes are quite fine. It works on the navy jersey because the orange and white blend together to create a glowing affect. However, that same blending of orange and white when you do the color swap works against the orange jersey because the white outlining blends into the jersey color making the stripes look very, VERY thin indeed. (Ditto for the "C" on the helmet.) That's why I like a thematic connection. The Bears have a jersey with three identical outlined stripes (navy) and one with three alternating solid stripes (white) so have one with three identical solid stripes is the logical missing piece. It's a bonus that it also happens to be a historical design. I think that the same reasoning that you employ for the stripes not working on the orange jersey (that it makes them look too thin) would also apply to the current numbers, in my opinion. I agree with you that I'd like to see the Bears go with navy numbers for the orange jersey, but I think the current round numbers, while I love them for the primaries, wouldn't really work as well for the orange. To make it more of a true throwback, I'd like to see them adopt the font of the white throwback jersey, essentially making it the home version of that uniform: (I'd also love to see the white jersey incorporate those socks on the far right).
GoHawks
Cowboys will unfortunately be in white pants instead of gray this week. Waiting for the Lions to announce all white as well to make this look even worse. 2 1 5 2
gothedistance
The Jets last wore green on green on the road at Cleveland in 2017. They hadn't done it with the current uniform set, until tonight.

The most embarrassed I ever felt for an adult when I was a kid was the time I met Dan Hampton while walking into a restaurant bathroom at Dukes in Honolulu. This 50 something year old dude, in an orange Bears jersey, just full on T Swift style groupie FREAKED OUT. “Do you know who this is?! It’s THE DANIMAL!!” While shaking my shoulders violently. Sir, I’m twelve, and this dude looks like my dad’s old Yellow Pages co worker. You’re keeping me from my Hula pie. 2 4 Quote On 11/19/2012 at 7:23 PM, oldschoolvikings said: She’s still half convinced “Chris Creamer” is a porn site.) So, unless they commit heresy and revert to a white helmet with a star that replaces the white inner stroke with silver, the white pants will continue to look out of place in that guise. 4 Quote *Disclaimer: I am not an authoritative expert on stuff...I just do a lot of reading and research and keep in close connect with a bunch of people who are authoritative experts on stuff. || dribbble || Behance ||
SportsFan12
Saints confirmed black pants at Tampa Bay, which means white on gold will not be worn this season. On a more positive note, this will be the first time since 2020 that the Bucs will wear red for a 1pm home game.
timjameskohler
It has become so disheartening to watch the Lions' uniform combinations devolve into full-on Cardinals/Commies territory. It makes me appreciate the more traditional teams even more: Packers, Bears, 49ers, Steelers, Raiders, Chiefs, Cowboys, Giants... With these teams holding steady, I still believe the NFL looks good far more than it looks bad. The Bears haven't messed around with monochrome this year, the Chiefs haven't gotten cute, and the return of all of these amazing throwbacks offsets the usual leotard and sock shenanigans.

The worst part about the Lions situation is that they won their division for the first time in three decades during their worst uniform season ever, which will inevitably generate a positive association in most people's brains with these mono looks.

It’s really sad and ridiculous that the Saints wore gold pants just ONCE all season… and of course they lost that game. I truly don’t understand the hatred or whatever they have against the gold pants. It’s Like they must not entirely hate them since they wear gold pants for every preseason game, but come regular season it’s like they completely forget they exist. If they can wear them for the entire preseason, what’s wrong with wearing them in the regular season? And don’t feed me this lame BS that the color is bad or off. It isn’t, it’s just not shiny. Every single other football team who wears gold pants now doesn’t have shiny pants. It Doesn’t seem to bother the 49ers (or literally every other gold CFB team). Only the Saints want to make it a big deal.

Not sure if anything has actually changed over the years, but there seems to be less contrast against white than ever. The numbers were a little hard to make out. I like the idea of the uniform, I just think there needs to be a little darker shade of silver, almost like a nickel. In 1970, the last year that the RAIDERS wore the silver numbers on the white jerseys the numbers were darker. It was more of a silver-gray color. These current ones are a dull silver, so all they've gotta do it make them darker.
timjameskohler
The Cowboys and Lions have not gone white over silver-blue VS. Honolulu blue over silver since TWENTY SIXTEEN. Im hoping that they meet in the playoffs just to fix that.
AVGuy
I dunno, but maybe even the telecast crew recognize the horrific look of the Lions All-White, stripe AND Logo less pants look... I swear during the entire pregame countdown on ABC, all the shots of warmups for Lions were only head and shoulders - nothing below the jersey tuck as one could see with Cowboys - viewable in their white version of pants. To me, these and the Saints all white or all black pants, the Jags all white or all black pants, the Commies all white pants...... there may be more!!! .......They are as appealing to look at as old cloth version of bench seats in pickup trucks! They have no place in a high dollar sport - the TV Advertisers whom pay the majority of the bills should speak up! The teams and mostly the stoopid players who chose these looks will never change just based on fan boards like this or X posts. It looks like :censored:e on TV so those paying the bills could easily make the games look better with a big $ nudge. I can accept it in NCAA football (as was painfully obvious of white pants in the Bowl game with Ole Miss vs. Penn State today) as the schools don't want to spend any $ and some hold onto it as "traditional look",, 5
BBTV
Does Dallas' kicker even wear shoulder pads? It doesn't even look like he's wearing really thin ones - it looks like he's just wearing a jersey.
