Jrue will probably be flipped somewhere else. Also, Suns added some very much needed depth.

And if that's the case, Portland is really doing well here. Good thing they didn't settle for whatever Miami was offering.

Three team trade and it seems like everyone did at least okay. Milwaukee was already a contender and got the best player in the trade, although it's a shame Lillard's antics got rewarded. Phoenix probably got better by getting rid of Ayton and adding Nurkic and Allen. Portland's haul is decent on paper anyway. Ayton is a stiff but Holiday can be rerouted for something and by the time those picks come up the Bucks might well be in the toilet.

I thought I was getting pranked when my homeboy in Chicago called to tell me.

It really sucks to lose Jrue Holiday. He was only around for three years, but that's all he needed to cement himself in Bucks lore and he was one of the most beloved players in franchise history to boot. The Bucks had to make this trade, but that doesn't make it any easier.

On the other hand.... HOLY S#!T WE GOT DAME!!!!!!!!!

Wisconsin on fire RN. Jordan Love looks good and looks like will be another QB who will own the bears for 15-20 years

Not because Love is good, but because the Bears can't get out of their own way.

Is this a good return for a #1 draft pick?

SG Grayson Allen

SG Keon Johnson

SF Nassir Little

C Jusuf Nurkic

And if that pick could have been Luka?

He was mishandled in Phoenix from the last regime and the relationship was already broken. The Sarver/Monty era was good yet bad. Ayton and Monty hated each other, and at the time he was drafted yes he was the guy. But again mishandled, plus the fact he just became lazy. But with a new regime and the fact the new owner isn't afraid to pull the trigger and get some good role players that can help the Suns, I'm all for it. At the end of the day I don't think Ayton wanted to be here and for both sides it's for the best.

Concerning Luka? Who knows, but I don't think the Suns would have traded for Chris Paul and probably wouldn't have the Finals appearance, and I don't think there would've been the Renaissance that the Suns have had. but that's a alternate reality that we will never cross. It's a who knows where we are. But I do like the return that the Suns received. And I wish Ayton luck.

Wow. Portland has cleaned the eff up from Dame. That's an incredible haul for a guy with maybe two good years before he's completely upside down on that contract.

EDIT: If Milwaukee wins another title, it's all worth it. But man, hauls for one guy really don't get better than this:

Its cool to see Brad Stevens do trades to make the Celtics competitive now instead of the Danny Ainge era of hoarding picks and swearing the Celtics will be a dynasty in 2-3 years...

Obviously not a Celtics fan, but what Ainge did (or really, didn't do) was criminal.

At least Scrooge McDuck went on cool adventures with his riches. Ainge just sat on it.

I feel like Brogdon can/should be moved for another pick or two, as well. We'll see! Ayton/Williams could be a really interesting frontcourt in a few years if everyone stays physically and mentally healthy.

Funny that Portland might be turning into OKC PNW.

I definitely prefer the Brad Stevens approach and I think, other than his shaky first moves when he first took over the FO (but that they papered over quickly), he's done a great job setting this team up. Flip side of these big swings, though, is that these are moves that could backfire. They've basically switched Smart for Holliday, and Rob Williams for Porzingis, while losing Grant Williams and Brogdon for some no-name rotation fillers... I liked the Porzingis move a lot more in the context of his being a a part of a three-big platoon. This was obviously not part of the plan, I get why it had to happen when Jrue became available but the cost worries me. Really wished Oregon native/mediocre rotation guy Payton Pritchard would've been shipped out in this trade but alas.

Idk, feels like the Celtics have a higher ceiling but a very tenuous path to reach that ceiling. And ultimately no trade could get them over the Banner 18 hump the way Brown/Tatum finding a consistent, superstar level in the playoffs would.

Smart, our standout defensive guard who's been in the league almost a decade, might drop off soon so we should trade him while we can. Hey Latvian Bargnani is available, let's do that even though he's always hurt and teams seem to get better after dealing him. Oh but the Bucks just got Lillard and now want to deal their aging standout defender point guard (who is older than Smart), we should trade our best interior defender plus two firsts for him.

The only explanation I can come up with is that Smart and Williams were two of the bad seeds in that notoriously bitchy locker room from the past few years. Otherwise this just looks like the flailings of a stalled contender in panic mode.

Yeah you can’t hate on the Suns for that pick. Ayton was not only a monster in college, but also was the star of the (semi) local powerhouse (frauds) college basketball team. That combo sort of made him a couldn’t pass kinda guy for the Suns.

Who you can blame, though, is the Sacramento Kings for just straight up PASSING on Luka for Marvin Bagley.

Marvin :censored:ing Bagley. They did that. The Kings. Who are somehow still in Sacramento. For reasons. That I can’t explain.
