This is the UFL! (XFL/USFL Merger)

I know the reasons, but this game really feels like the Lions in special jerseys. Endzones in the blue match too much with the BattleHawks even though they're road. All white, silver, and blue just fits too well with Ford Field field than the Panthers colors.

Are the rosters mostly the same as last season or did they redistribute the players?  Curious how much these XFL vs USFL games say about the leagues last year.

I think it was kinda both? They distributed the 8 teams that got cut and I’m pretty sure players who played for the remaining teams, but left for various reasons were able to return to those teams.

64 yard FG for the win!

Late sales of single game tickets, and everyone expecting them to be at the bottom of the league didn't help here. Not surprised to see Birmingham win, but I expected more from St. Louis. Michigan's defense was quicker than I thought they'd be and that helped them get the win.

If the UFL survives, I wouldn’t be surprised if that 64 yarder remains the record for a bit.

Jake Bates continues to kick like that, he'll be in the NFL by the end of the summer.

Turned off the late game early to watch basketball but enjoyed what I saw today. Hopefully ESPN’s broadcasts aren’t “spread” this, “over-under” that, “live odds” blah blah blah like it was with the XFL last year that made it nearly unwatchable.

Considering that last season there wasn't an ESPN-branded sportsbook app, I would not get my hopes up on that front.

For all the bird de lis haters I think the bird de lis isnt supposed to be a pelican and a fleur de lis I think its just a fleur de lis with a pelicans head. Thats what it looks like to me. Also the flair around the tip of the beak is just flair that fleur de lis have sometimes source I am from NOLA.

That's pretty much my thinking as well. Unless they came up with a league wide broadcast setup, I'd expect the same graphics as last year, with ESPN Bet added.

I had the early game without paying too much attention -- but noticed they didn't cram the spread & over/under into the score bug like they previously had

Fox and NBC avoided doing that, but ESPN will probably have it all over there stuff, especially since they have their own sports book now.

Not unless there's some sort of backroom deal with the NFL to showcase the rule this season, they're going with the USFL's kickoff routine from last season.

I admit it would draw more eyes to the UFL as fans would look to see what the new rule looks like in live action before the NFL season...

I disagree that it would increase viewers. NFL fans like to watch the NFL.

ESPN needs to color balance their cameras better. Depending on the shot, the Brahmas use either athletic gold or yellow.

Update: Also the remote camera is rendering the color a bit greenish.

I think how the lighting is used in the stadium doesn't help either. In the corners it's pretty bright, but in the center of the field the lights don't cover as much.
