I could see the Titans at least bringing back the white helmet. It's already there with the Oilers throwback and could be worn as an alternate a couple of times.

They could do that. I just hope this doesn't lead to an all-white look. It would look better than the all-white with the navy helmet, but I don't want to encourage them.

Titans current set is a big downgrade from their original set, which wasn’t fantastic (but I still think very solid) itself.

I would love to see them change, because their current set sucks. But I’m afraid of what they may change to, because you can’t just assume it’s going to be any better than the current tire fire.

The pants on the original set were amazing. The rest? Ehhh...

Titans former set was great when it only had the white pants and no baby blue jersey. Once they started throwing other colored pants into the variation, the whole thing got pretty stale pretty quickly.

They were definitely one of those teams that were hurt by the switch to Nike, so you kind of knew a change was coming for them eventually. Problem is, they absolutely faceplanted with the Nike set and still haven’t corrected it yet. They’re the worst looking team in the league right now.

I’ve been so excited about the Texans rebrand and now I’m convinced it will be awful. Hate that it’s 4 different looks.

I don't want to get my hopes up after the Cardinals BS, but I'm cautiously optimistic.

I still think the current Titans uniforms are a couple tweaks away from being perfectly fine. I'm tooting my own horn here, but I think there would have been less complaints if they looked more like this instead of having awkward elements like the side panels and weird pants stripes.

Their previous uniforms had already been frittered away by years of manufacturer/template changes. The final version with no contrasting collars and a "yoke" that looked more like a racing stripe sucked. They were due for a change.

Titans have one of the best color schemes in the league, less the unfortunate shoehorning in of the bi-tone grays.

Their original set was solid, but flawed.  The White & Light Blue pants were perfect.  The Navy pants ruined every look it was worn with, as it does on the current set because they constantly wear the wrong combos.  Both number fonts were/are horrific and the original helmet stripe became terribly dated.  Shoulder yokes in football uniforms themselves became terribly dated, so overall, I don't blame the Titans for making a change in 2018.  They just mucked it up.

The fix is to return to the Oilers helmet but use the Titans logo, maybe swapping to a Light Blue facemask as they would use Red as a tertiary color after Light Blue & Navy.  They should return to their original Light Blue and White pants, keeping a little Red from the league logo and the Swoosh.  Would not be completely opposed to considering a hip logo over top the stripes, like the Ravens have.

Being that they fought so hard to keep the colors from Houston, they need to make a Light Blue jersey their primary.   They need to retain the 3-stripe from the pant to the helmet, or just not use a stripe.   Get rid of the use of Gray altogether.

Essentially, a modern Oilers update, replacing Red with Navy and adding Red elements.

Look at your redesign hurts so bad! I think Tennesee needs to just keep the navy helmets and I think the Texans need to try white helmets for a change along with the red and navy.

The reason why I do not like the Texans navy is because it looks very close to black unlike the other navy colors I have noticed.

Titans official reporter says no new uniforms coming this year. I could still see perhaps some minor tweak that most people wouldn't notice being behind the sources saying otherwise, but that likely ends that rumor.

Kinda like when they reduced the size of the numbers by some minuscule amount for “legibility reasons” after one season

It's the armpit squares.

Why are there armpit squares?

(My theory, and i am being 100% serious, is that they decided they wanted to retain a piece of the old uniforms so they slid the shoulder yokes -- which in the Nike era were so thin they could almost be described as stripes -- down under the armpit so that they could place the new kewl sword design thingy on the shoulders. And someone at Nike explained that and somebody representing the Titans was like OH HECK YEAH THIS IS GENIUS)

The result? Armpit squares.

I agree, it's ultimately the element that kills the uniform as a whole. To me, it screams design by committee decision after they had likely moved far along in the process with the sword yoke design before realizing that would only feature columbia blue on the sleeve cuffs (which would be obscured on half of the players) and a thin number outline. It was a total switch in color balance that probably freaked a lot of executives out, and as a result led to throwing that in at the last minute.

The current uniforms could work if you eliminated the armpit squares, rework the number font, and match the pant stripes to the helmet stripe. They wouldn't necessarily be my favorite Titans uniforms and would still suffer from color balance issues, but they would at least work as a cohesive idea.

What part of this process makes you 'cautiously optimistic'?

It's where I sit.

I like the idea of all of the jerseys being different and they said there's something for everyone.  Could be a disaster, could be good.

Split the difference: I’m calling one good, one meh, and two disasters. Which will be which I don’t know. I bet the horned helmet will be cool though.

The Titans are by no means “a few tweaks from being good”.  They need a few dozen tweaks just to approach below average.

Their current uniforms are an absolute disaster, fighting neck and neck with the Commies for the bottom of the NFL barrel.

The Cardinals might give me hope from a design standpoint… the individual uniforms elements are pretty good ( or at least tolerable) but the combination choices are moronic.
