infrared41
Quote It's official: College football is adding the two-minute warning. (It won't be an additional TV timeout) That's about as likely as Vanderbilt winning the SEC next season. 2 3 Quote All roads lead to Dollar General. The sign stealing probe is still ongoing, but I still felt this was pretty light. A G5 team would have lost postseason games.
MJWalker45
https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/40014492/reggie-bush-heisman-trophy-returned Reggie Bush getting his Heisman Trophy back. Reggie Bush has his 2005 Heisman Trophy back, as the Heisman Trust announced Wednesday the formal "reinstatement" of the trophy to Bush amid what it calls "enormous changes in the college football landscape." The Heisman Trust's decision comes after Bush forfeited his Heisman Trophy in 2010 in the wake of significant NCAA sanctions for USC, which included Bush receiving improper benefits during a Trojans career that spanned from 2003 to 2005. As part of the decision Wednesday, the Heisman Trust is returning the Heisman Trophy to Bush and a replica to USC. Bush will again be invited to all future Heisman Trophy ceremonies, beginning in the 2024 season. 1

Geoff
You know they only did it because of the backlash they got after OJ died. If it was related to NIL and the changed fan attitude toward player compensation, why wait until now? 2 Quote Athletic Director: KTU Blue Grassers Football

Sykotyk
https://www.espn.com/college-sports/story/_/id/40206364/ncaa-power-conferences-agree-allow-schools-pay-players Well this is monumental for college football. Surprised it hasn't been listed before. Not only are the Power 5 schools going to settle with the players, but then agree to share up to $20m/yr for each power 5 school. I knew with the collectives that popped up this wasn't far behind. But the pace at which it changed really was staggering. Now, with the schools on the hook, do we see more realignment to further concentrate the power 5 down to 2 or 4 major conferences?

It isn't just college football, it 's all sports, men's and women's. And it's ridiculous. The whole thing is a farce now. If this is what it has come to, at this point, I'd love to see some type of effort or even legislation to get colleges and universities out of the athletics business completely. And this is coming from an LSU football season ticket holder. But there's too much money involved, and it won't happen. 1 1 1 Quote It is what it is. Dynasty
I've longed for the athletics departments to break away from the schools enough were they can still represent them, but also operate on their own separate accord. I've also contemplated about a regulation system for the football side, but I think that may be more unrealistic for reasons that may or may not be obvious. TBGKon
Playoff question … Is the G5 champion slotted anywhere in the playoffs or are they automatically given the 12 spot? I’ve seen mixed messages and not sure if that’s been stated officially or not.
