Nick 1733
that looks good nick. you might be able to SLIGHTLY darken the white areas to make them show the effect better. also, i see this could be done either way, but wouldnt the blue space in the middle of the D, around the bronco, be flat as well? on most embroidered pieces? the blue background is there just so you can see the whole thing because the outline is white. I have pleanty of Broncos stuff and the blue inside, even on a blue hat, is embroidered. MLB, NBA, NFL & NHL Font Packs

FiddySicks
That IS great, now the second test is whether you can mock the chainstitch effect that some MLB teams use on their uniforms. I know the Astros for one use it; I'm sure other teams do as well... it basically has the "loopy" look of the varsity letter on your old high school jacket, if anyone knows what I'm talking about... yeah i know what you mean. the jerseys in the MinuteMaid pro shop with that fashon are major $$$$ On 11/19/2012 at 7:23 PM, oldschoolvikings said: She’s still half convinced “Chris Creamer” is a porn site.) CZzyzx41
The USC example is near spot on and the dallas stars...I couldn't tell if that was real or not. I worked for a while with an embroidery company and from time to time we'd do sports stuff for the NHL, MLB, NFL, AFL, etc. but one thing i like about the Stars example vs. the Photoshop examples is that it takes into account everything that would go into an actual embroidered patch. You have the border, each section embroidered as a separate section, etc. The older the logo the more primitive I think the Embroidery would be. Older logos would use more sections and look like thicker thread whereas new logos would have as few sections as possible and very thin thread.A good example is the Broncos D. In the past the Straight line and the curve would each be their own section. Each part of the horse detail would be embroidered in different directions to create the effect of 3D while using as few colors as possible. Then each part of the background would be embroidered separately and sometimes in poor quality work each part of it would be embroidered in a separate direction depending on what worked best for the machine. Nowadays the background would be done first, all one direction then adding each piece of the puzzle. The Broncos himself may still be done using different stitch direction but the D would be all one section. It just looks cleaner. Love that Dallas Stars exmple. Great work. -DanielCheck Out My Podcast! Latest Episode 273: The Color BlinkyLatest Photo Upload: January 7, 2012

robbman21
Hey Donovan... You must have read my mind because just this week I started working on these.I have finished 3 examples, and they are supersized the show the detail.I did'nt add any shadow effects,I was just trying to get the 'threading' design perfected before I took it to the next level.I did mine a little finer than the others but hopefully the larger view will show the details.NFL 75th ANNIVERSARYSUPER BOWL X BICENTENNIAL PATCHSTEELERS' JERSEY PATCH
Puddy
This is a good start, but remember the embroidery doesn't all go in the same direction. If you want realism, you're going to have to section off areas and change the stitching direction. In particular, any "thin" areas (like the outline) should have the stitching running across the width.
spyboy1
Here's two I did. These are patches I couldn't buy for hockey jerseys. The border on the flag is a scan of an actual patch. I then created the inner part of the flag myself. This might seem like a dumb subject matter, but it's a sponsor patch for a minor league hockey team that I want to add to a replica.
