andrewharrington
Maroon and Teal . . . Oh, like the Cougars from Playmakers. I think they ruined that one for me. mac
Maroon and Teal . . . Oh, like the Cougars from Playmakers. I think they ruined that one for me. no not like that, the dominant color has to be maroon with teal as an accent, then it is sweet.

Roger Clemente
Powder Blue, Silver, and Black. You also forgot the Tampa Bay Lightning, even though their real blue on the jerseys is not that light.I'd have to say it is probably the best color combo...when done properly.I don't think powder blue and yellow work much at all. The Nuggets are the only tolerable example of it I have seen. I don't even like the vintage St. Louis Blues jerseys all that much. (The one's they got now though are perfect.)(Mind you there is that pretty stupid looking Lions throwback, which just looks like a Raiders ripoff only with harder to see numbers.Other combos that work:Red, White and Blue. You'd have to try pretty hard to mess that up.Any one color with white, just as long as you don't f*** up the uniforms as badly as the Texas "Look at those flying f**gots!" Longhorns.)Green and gold. It is crucial that gold is in there. The Green Bay Packers are probably the only team in all four major leagues that have perfect green jerseys at that. The Dallas Stars green on black jerseys are great too, but only because of the separation of the colors by gold. (I wouldn't say they are perfect jerseys though.)There are many other unique combos that also work together, but only under certain circumstances (i.e. the jersey balances the colors nicely) Like the jade and eggplant. of the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim. (Although I really wish they would take my advice and change the dark jerseys numbers to white-on-jade-on-silver, because nowhere else on any of the uniforms do jade and eggplant actually touch.Combos that don't work:Green and black look terrible together, especially when it's an already deep shade of green like the Philadelphia Eagles, and mix it with black...man, that's awful. Even the Stars' early 90's jerseys looked bad. That Celtics third jersey, which I've actually yet to see used, looks bad too. The Minnesota Wild actually have decent colors that I believe can be worked into something tolerable, but their green jersey is the absolute worst jersey of all time, no contest because it goes good with exactly no other articles of clothing.Wine/burgundy with pretty much anything. It only works when used as a minor color or accent. The only burgundy jersey that I think looks okay is the Phoenix Coyotes white jersey, and mostly because it's white and uses little burgundy. The Colorado Avalanche has the second worst uniforms in the NHL (the jagged striping doesn't help either, but why do you choose one of the ugliest colors as your main color for a team name that the color has nothing to do with?) The Cleveland Cavaliers...if you were to use any other color but burgundy, you'd have great uniforms, but as is they are barely tolerable. My two cents:--Roger "Time?" Clemente. Follow me on Twitter if you care: @Animal_Clans.My opinion may or may not be the same as yours. The choice is up to you.

ColeJ
my favorite color combo that I have never seen a team use is maroon and teal, I have made about fifty concepts with these colors and they always look great together. maroon and teal is used a lot together in english soccer...they call it "claret and blue"check out burnley and aston villa...i think it's gross looking together, personally. amare32
I like two schemes particularly well: (i) navy/orange; and (ii) black/yellow.In both cases, you've got a conservative, traditional primary color and a bold secondary color that makes the combo pop. Think Bears and Tigers for the first, Steelers, Pirates and Pens for the second.Another combo I like is the copper/black/teal used by the Arizona Rattlers. Teal has the same effect against the black as the secondary colors mentioned above. I don't ordinarily like teal, but copper takes on a teal coat in some circumstances, so they make sense together. One off-the-wall combo that works for me would involve copper/powder blue w/ either black or brown. Haven't seen that around, but I like it.

See, I wouldn't call that "teal." It's more a baby or powder blue, rather than a teal, a la the Sharks or Marlins. Buy some t-shirts and stuff at KJ Shop! jamesjduncan
I'm partial to color combos that I have used. Black and yellow was my high school colors (although we could have done without the old Tampa Bay Bucs logo)Purple and yellow was the ball hockey team I played for (i've posted that monstrosity here before)Seriously though, I like black with anything. I hear people saying that black and certain colors don't go together, but I don't see that. Black and any color work for me. Except for pink. I'm sorry, black and pink reminds me of licorice and prostitution. Cheers!Jimmy

spyboy1
they call it "claret and blue"i think it's gross looking together, personally.West Ham United also suffers from being stuck with that gross combination too. Now, for the "graphic designer" who came up with that IDIOTIC "DWS" logo...Does he/she have ANY IDEA that an incomplete hexagon with "DWS" overlapping it to the right looks like it says "COWS" from any sort of a distance?
