swilson160
So IGN.com has an interview with Carson Palmer, and it includes screenshots of him in what must be Madden '06. The uniform is the new Bengals uniform, but with standard block numbers (w/ a drop shadow) instead of the rounded ones they use. Since last year's Madden gave the Bengals Bronco-style numbers, this must be a new texture for '06. So are the Bengals changing numbers, or did Madden get it wrong again? (There's no excuse this year). Hopefully these are correct; they look less bush-league than last year's Bengal unis.
LMU
Too bad they didn't get rid of the white side panel too. And, one thing that drives me nuts about madden is that they have yet to use the team's font for the player name. What's up with that?
swilson160
Yeah, having all the names in Arial doesn't do it for me. Especially with everything they put into the graphics, that really throws me off. NFL2K5 had the names right, and that alone made the game look more real. LMU
ESPN also had it right, and that was a great game, especially for the $20 price tag.

It doesn't really bother me that much. Though it'll probably be fixed when XBox 360 and PS3 roll out.

Sad, sad indeed. Well, there's allways NHL in September, and there's this tribute to the 2kFootball series here.I don't know, I was going to buy Madden for a while, but after seeing all these horid graphics and the return of dropback passing, it just isn't worth it. I don't really care now though, 2k5 still plays well.

Blue Falcon
The Bungles need to dump those clown suits. Just changing the font of the numbers is like putting lipstick on a pig. That white side stripe is one of the worst ideas I have ever seen, and the orange jersey/black pants/orange socks combo looks Arena-ish. I do like the stripes on the shoulders, but that's about it. sscrunner06
The 2K series tribute is great. I don't know if anyone has watched it yet, but the game clips combined with the commentary are pretty amazing. A fitting tribute to a great game.
tomhunter8
With those unis I think they should just change their name to the Cincinnati Flinstones! "This sweater, this Bluenote, it's your life. Braden
This is weird guys... I checked gamespot.com and they have half of the bengals screenshots in block numbering, and half of the proper font.
mac
you know I actually prefer the rounded font to the block font here, it matches the uniforms better. That doesn't mean the uniforms are good. I can't even count how many emails I've written to them about their uniforms, in my opinion the worst in the league. And that is a shame because they used to have the best, especially their all white set. Oh well I'll take them looking stupid and playing good over looking good and playing stupid any day.last year's madden version of the bengals were terrible. they had the broncos font. The numbers on the shoulders were so small it was hard to read. the leaping tiger not supposed to be on the uniform was on the sleaves, sometimes, and then other times it wasn't, say it was only on the jerseys if you wore the black pants but not if you wore the white pants. ShaftDu
you that is kinda of scary if you think about it. EA has all the rights to the NFL. Now they can change the look without anyone getting mad at them. SAD.

canzman
This is a screw up by EA... it was bugged by the EA QA team and fixed once. Then art made more changes later and got it wrong again. It was bugged again but was not fixed by the art team this time since they said it was not a major issue and they did not want to touch the art any more. Andy
Well they did get one thing right. Look where the Bengals are starting their drive from. The opposing teams goal line Yes, but they also have Bengals fans in the stands. Come on, EA, I thought you were making a push towards realism.
