Audiodrama
Um, say what you want, but they still haven't lost in nearly two years. That's not a fluke. I'm not a USC fan, but I'm realistic.
Seadragon76
BS? The ball went out and the clock was stopped at 5 seconds left, which was enough time for Leinart to sneak it into the endzone. So, quit being sore about USC.
Redlands, CA
USC hasn't lost in nearly two years. Texas finally beat Oklahoma who by the way was blown out by USC last year. Texas will lose in Big 12 title game.

Sounds like someones being a sore loser. Leinart is a good quarterback and knows how to win games and is the defending Heisman Trophy winner. The USC Teams have 2 National Championships(1 1/2 if you haters are out there) and have not lost a game in almost 2 years. They know how to get it done, unlike ND who had a chance and couldn't close USC out. Face it you're being a sore loser.

Colorado got manhandled by Texas, Nebraska is losing at freaking BAYLOR, and Iowa State (Favorites by many) has laid an egg since the Army game. Oh, and Missouri, K-State, and Kansas don't count. Why don't they just give the Big 12 championship to whoever wins next week's game between Texas Tech and Texas? Give this about a week. Youll go back and eventually youll be saying; "Why the fluff did i let my emotions spill out onto the board?" Trust me, because you cant honestly mean any of that stuff. The officials won the game for USC? It was a legit win through and through, no different than any other win theyve had lately just closer in score. And wishing ill on someone because he scored more points than your team? That seems like a pretty dumb reason to want someones career to end. And if you do mean any of it, your not really that smart On 11/19/2012 at 7:23 PM, oldschoolvikings said: She’s still half convinced “Chris Creamer” is a porn site.) Cujo
If anyone puts the end of this game under the "Worst Call Ever" thread, they are insane. The end of this game was called to perfection by the officials. The only reason there is controversy is because the Notre Dame scoreboard operator doesn't know how to hit "STOP" with 7 seconds remianing. USC won an fair contest. Both teams played a hell of a game, and that call was the right one. Now, if they had stuck to the original decision and just ended the game, then yeah, I'd be happy but I'd put it under "worst call ever", and DirtyCurty would probably be throwing a hissy fit all over the boards. But yeah, USC is the true #1, they ain't lost since 2003. Texas is the only team I see with a shot of beating them now.

What original decision to end the game? The closest referee (most likely the Head Linesman) immediately signalled to stop to clock with about 7 seconds left. He pointed to the ground at the spot where Leinart's forward progress was stopped, and singalled to stop the clock. Maybe he got lost in the crowd and the clock operator did not see him, but it doesn't change the fact the clock should have been stopped. It wasn't until another camera angle was shown to see the fumble. Leinart's forward progress was just inside the 1, and the ball popped loose and went out of bounds (note spelling). The referees most likely discussed the ends of the play and where the clock should be. So it's still USC ball at the 1, 0:07 on the clock. I REALLY hate Leinart How did the Trojans cheat?? I wanna hear your conspiracy theory. He didn't say they did. He said he wants to believe that somehow they did... that's a lot different than an accusation. My beef is with the spot of the ball on that final play. The fumble happened at about the 1, and was fumbled backwards out of bounds. They somehow got the ball well inside the 1 yardline.
DEAD!
... in other news. Did anyone see the finish to the Penn State/Michigan game minutes before the finish of the USC Notre Dame game? Not to mention the finish in the Alabama/Mississippi game? I saw, I came, I left.

That is something I can agree with. USC right now is the best team we have all seen in years. there is no way around it. Best ever? No. I don't think you can ever find a team that is the best ever. You can't compare two teams from completely different time periods. I did mention Army, but that was more of a joke...though all the records were real. And the most points per game one is in jeopardy (or at least it was) to USC.And yea, I saw that Penn State/Michigan ending. It blew me away. I can't believe it. Just wow. But you do have a good point. Maybe the ball was placed on the 1 because the ball was knocked out/last touched by a Notre Dame player, the ball is placed where Leinart had posession it last. That's all I can really come up with.
NJTank
THe way I look at it time expired, the refs never stopped the clock they can not add time unless they have replay and there was no replay in this game, it was a total joke, and it was a complete screw job from the Pac 10 refs. I hope sobody knocks of the Trojans becuase if they win a 3rd straight with this in there then it will be confirmed the College Football is a joke and the refs can pick and choose who wins while fatass reporters vote on the National Title. www.sportsecyclopedia.com For the best in sports history go to the Sports E-Cyclopedia at http://www.sportsecyclopedia.com
