Chazberg
Watching the Capitals game the other night on my NHL Center Ice package ( ), I noticed that goalie Brent Johnson was still wearing his mask from his stint with the Coyotes-complete with two big coyote head logos on either side, and a desert background scene. I thought this was pretty silly; how hard is it to get the guy a new mask design, or at least one that doesn't promote his old team? charles-noerenberg.com

LMU
It's not uncommon at all. I remember a goalie on the kings several years ago wearing a Red Wings themed helmet and red pads for a few games.

I remember a goalie on the kings several years ago wearing a Red Wings themed helmet and red pads for a few games. haha. i always love it when stuff like this happens. Its kind of like a tribute to the past. Im waiting for the day that an NFL player gets traded and wears his old helmet for a game or two with his new team. Itll never happen but i think thatd be pretty interesting to see On 11/19/2012 at 7:23 PM, oldschoolvikings said: She’s still half convinced “Chris Creamer” is a porn site.) DGivens87
Wearing the old team's goalie helmet is still 100% better than the blank all-white, yet-to-be-painted goalie helmet I recall Bill Ranford sporting when he was traded to the Bruins a few years back. Bleujayone
I remember when Andy Moog played for the Bruins. He had the coolest goalie mask in the form of a bears head with is own facemask looking out the jaws. Later he was traded to the Dallas Stars, but he kept the bear mask and just redid the trim from brown to green. Still one of the best masks ever. We all have our little faults. Mine's in California. Making it more pathetic that this is at least his second team since Phoenix and still no change.... charles-noerenberg.com
WBGMike
Phx put him on waivers so they can send him down to the AHL, the Caps picked him up, So he has to get a new paint scheme. it usally takes 2-3 weeks to come up with a design and get it painted at the earliest
PSUCub
I was watching a game on Center Ice the other night and he covered up the PHX logo on the chin with a Washington Capitals sticker. It looks silly, though.
Sodboy13
Might I remind everyone that it was Johan Hedberg's goalie mask that gave him his nickname, "Moose," when he made the jump from Manitoba to Pittsburgh. And Andy Moog's mask reminds me of Beezer's during his days with the Panthers. tommytimp
When Mike Fitzpatrick went to the Blackhawks in the late 90s he basically had a black mask with three Hawks logos stuck to it. He didn't last long, IIRC. "The trouble with quotes on the Internet is that it's hard to verify their authenticity."--Abraham Lincoln
