White Sox World Series Rings

DEAD!

Recommended Posts

I just went to that website, and they're auctioning off, I guess, replicas of the rings? I doubt Kirk Gibson would need nor want to auction off his 84 ring. But I could be wrong.

I've always enjoyed the Dallas Cowboys rings:

And look at this piece of garbage:

It's the 1992 Pittsburgh Penguins Wales Conference Championship Ring

The Penguins ring is that way because they also won the Cup that year...

dang.

that is nice.

and to get at the Cubs fans. Here is a mockup of the Cub's World Series Ring:

(had to do it)

At least the Cubs don't resort to bogus National Championship rings like your '04 football team did.

War Cubbie!

Did they really do that? Seriously? Or is that some kind of fan mockup? Those are just terrible, especially considering that USC would have just crushed Auburn.

No joke.

I believe Coach Tubberville promised the team championship rings if they went 13-0 (keep in mind Utah also went undefeated that year along with USC), and I think Auburn got ONE first place vote in the final poll that year. Pathetic.

And yes, the Trojans would have slaughtered the Tigers, just like they did #2 Oklahoma, if they had played that season.

IDK, I think Auburn would have put up a better fight than Oklahoma. I don't think the end result would have changed, though.

I doubt Auburn would have put up a better fight. They barely got by Virginia Tech in their bowl game while USC absolutely killed Oklahoma (ranked #2 at the time). There is no doubt Leinart and the Trojans would have put an even bigger beatdown on the Tigers if they had actually played. The outcome would have been one of those scores the Chicago Superfans always predict: USC 125, Auburn 6.

Regardless, wearing a ring like that is about as ridiculous as hanging an NIT banner in your arena for being #66 in the nation.

I've seen that ring in person. I don't think that it looks that good. And I'm not saying this because I'm an Alabama fan, but because I really think that it doesn't look all that good.

The Sacramento Rivercats did that the two years they won the PCL. Theyre pieces of crap, im suprized theyre raffling them off rather than just giving them away at the door.

I saw the 2002 SF Giants NL Championship ring, and it's quite nice, black square stone with a gold SF in the middle, it's one of the few rings that's wearable.

The year after the NL Title i got to sit in a luxury box in San Fran and they were selling the "B Version" rings for only a few hundred to a few thousand dollars.

I guess they give out "attendance champions" rings now.

BTW, when are the Cubs raising their coveted attendance banner?

I get it! It's funny, because people go to Cubs games!

No, people go to all games. It doesn't mean anything, and nobody seems to pride themselves in their attendance like the loveable losers' fans do. They brag about their attendance more than Yankees fans brag about their world championships.

If 3 million people come to watch a 4th place team, it doesn't make the team any better. It's nothing to brag about. Then again, when your team in a national laughingstock, I can understand clinging to anything you can. But hey, you have the historic "Bud Light Bleachers" now, so you got that going for you.

My ring. It is based off of the Texas Cotton Bowl ring from a few years back. It's huge.

ok...here is my problem with awarding rings. Troy didn't even win the Silicon Valley Classic that year if I remember correctly. Just another way that our society wants to take the "EVERYBODY WINS" approach. It makes me sick. No offense to Troy - I understand that it was their first bowl game and everything, but you should only get a ring if you WIN. It is that simple.

that goes for you too Aubies...I mean, good grief the Eufaula Times/Golf World National Champions?!?!?...THAT goes to show what a joke Auburn really is. Sure give them SEC Championship rings, but don't go acting like a clown and claim a bogus national title. Call me when you've won 12...and if you want to argue about the so-called bogus Bama titles then fine- we'll say 7....but NCAA records show Bama with an extra 5 we could claim, so don't bother bringing that garbage line of reasoning to the table.

To sum up - in a competition between two teams only ONE can be the winner. And THEY should get the rings. People need to stop rewarding mediocrity and failure in our society and give the winners the trophies and make the losers work harder.

I love the Cubs and I don't brag about the attendance THAT much. There's something to be said for filling Wrigley Field, though, it's a great park, great atmosphere. White Sox fans are just bitter about everything because even when you win it all, you're still Chicago's B-team.

♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫
