Rick Ankiel is trying to make his way as an outfielder in the Cardinals farm system last I heard.

This is true. I saw him play a couple of times with my hometown team, the Springfield Cardinals (Double A, Texas League). Here's currently on the DL. I expect he will be shipped to Memphis - maybe? - when he's healthy. He's not MLB-ready and I don't know if he's repeat Double A or not. He finished last year on a tear and ended up batting .243-10-30 for Springfield.

Ankiel was in Cards camp this spring but his injury prevented him from shoeing anyhting promising. He's a decent hitter with good speed so he should be productive in AA and possibly AAA.

Bud Smith(former cards pitcher)

Was traded to the Phillies as part of the Rolen deal. Had more arm trouble. No longer in Phils organization. May be out of baseball.

If so, he might be this guy.

All I've heard about Okoye since he left the NFL in the early 90s is that he and Mr. Belding from Saved By The Bell are homeboys now and party together all the time. No joke.

He was also on Pros vs. Joes Monday night. Doesn't seem to have the form anymore. He couldn't get down to make the tag, he just threw his leg out. He stopped em though.
