The 1998 Mexico kits were simply awesome, with the Aztec sublimation. Nike put some elements of it on the chest stripe of the 2006 kit.

For all the bird de lis haters I think the bird de lis isnt supposed to be a pelican and a fleur de lis I think its just a fleur de lis with a pelicans head. Thats what it looks like to me. Also the flair around the tip of the beak is just flair that fleur de lis have sometimes source I am from NOLA.

You know that jersey with the Aztec design isn't too far off of what alot of the teams sporting Puma jerseys with woodmarks sport.

It's definitely too much, but it was definitely wasn't that bad. In fact, they probably would have pulled it off well if it wasn't for the cheezy white collar.

I'm not much of a fan. I think I'd love it if the two greens were closer together in shade, though, to the point where'd you'd have to be relatively close to the uniform to notice the pattern. Kind of like the old Orlando Magic jerseys, where you really couldn't see the star pattern on the jerseys from a distance -- but maybe make it a little more noticable than that.

The green/red one was the last one done along w/ the green/green one with the stripes on the collar. The originals were worn for a concacaf tourney the year before or maybe 1996. They were dark green on green, dark red on crimson and grey on white (3 sets) all w/ the plain white collar and a very unusual cut that's surprisingly comfortable - instead of the sleeves being sewn onto the body the whole shirt (minus the collar & cuffs) is just 2 t-shaped pieces, one for the front and one for the back. The sleeves are integrated w/ the body of the shirt.

I'm usually more for moderation but in this case the subtle tone on tone is quite nice. In addition, it's kind of refreshing to see some individuality and uniqueness in a country's look. Would like to see them bring it back, but with the pattern being made of the same color as the shirt, but with a gloss vs the shirt matte.

At least the jersey matches the country it represents ...

... they both suck.

blah, blah, blah, I'm liberal and you make me mad

With that out of the way, the Aztec jerseys are unique and relatively handsome. I wonder what the US equivalent would be? Statue of Liberty, a cowboy, or maybe some huge fat guy waddling through Wal-Mart. Any of those would work, really.
