I think they made the right choice in the end. The long flag look doesn't seem right and I'm particularly glad they didn't go with this:Ok, that looks like Bluto from Popeye cartoons... I know I'm not the only one who sees that. I think having Bucco Bruce might be better than Bluto, a man who is known for dominating right away, but giving it up at the end to his most feared enemy... Look at the badge of the pirate hat. I really like the TB with the cutlasses. I must say that I do like the first helmet of this post. I was always liked the Bucco Bruce era better than what they have now. Actually I hate the addition of the pewter, it looks to contrived. Black or even a very dark silver or vegas gold might have looked better. Giving money and power to government is like giving whiskey and car keys to teenage boys. P. J. Their current helmets are pretty cool but after seeing what they rejected I think they could have done much better.I have to agree - this would've been my first choice, followed by the pewter version with the "full length" flag, skull and cutlasses, then the pewter version with just the skull and cutlasses, and only then the one they actually picked.They still did okay, but now that I've seen these, I realize they could've done the rebranding even better... then again, they could've done it a helluva sight worse. I really glad they didn't go that route. Man, do you see how ugly the unis look in that one pic? Beautiful choice on what they have now. Wonder if they are considering a tweak or something after all these years? Wonder why it took so long for these to come out like they did? Hopefully there is no change in order. The reflections and colors make it look like the skull has a bad combover. This one has to be the best of all. No one else uses pewter, making it a totally unique color, which gives them instant logo recognition2. If you look at at all of the logos, you can see why they chose the eventual winner - it combined all of the basic elements in a way that said what they needed - skull & crossbones, sabers, flag, etc.3. I do understand that the pewter is unique and sets them apart, so in that fact I say leave it as is. I just think a dark silver or even a dark red would've been nice. Maybe a dark red with the sleeve boat on it. It's just nice to see that they had a lot of good choices to choose from, though Bluto wasn't a good choice and if chosen would've made Bucco look really good. *lol* Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
