Why do you think the NL will not get the asg in 2010? I seem to recall that the NL has had a couple of ASGs in a row.

Case in point, 06 was in Pittsburgh and 07 was in San Francisco.

Selig said he would not do that again. The reason why it did happen was because the American League really hasn't had a new/renovated ballpark in quite some time.

My guesses:

2010 - Anaheim

2011 - Washington

2012 - Minnesota

2013 - Arizona

2014 - Tampa Bay

2015 - Philadelphia

2016 - Kansas City

2017 - Whale's Va Gina

2018 - Oakland (although it will probably be too small)

2019 - New York Mets

I think KC will get an ASG before Anaheim. Has Texas hosted one yet? I do not recall. I assume that "Whale's" is for the Marlins, which is where they will be playing by 2017. Also, scratch Tampa off of 2014. By that time, unless they get a new stadium, the Trop will be around 25 years old and definitely too antiquated to host an ASG.

You can't really predict ASG locations that far ahead of time. Here are my predictions 5 years past what we already know:

2008: New York AL (already known)

2009: St. Louis (already known)

2010: Anaheim (sice renovations, this ballpark is practically new)

2011: Arizona (new ballpark that's been waiting since 1998 to host ASG)

2012: Boston (100th anniversary of Fenway Park)

2013: Philadelphia (new ballpark that will be due for an ASG)

2014: Kansas City (renovations should be done by then, and KC was promised an ASG between 2013 and 2015)

and what of the Dodgers? They haven't hosted since 1980, their stadium is generally considered one of the classics, and San Diego has hosted twice (1978, 1992) in the past 30 years. I would assume MLB would like to showcase one of their lasting icons.

2008 Yankee Stadium - New York (AL)

2009 Busch Stadium - St. Louis (NL)

2010 Angels Stadium - Anaheim (AL)

2012 Kauffman Stadium - Kansas City (AL)

2013 Citi Field - New York (NL)

2014 New Twins Ballpark - Minnesota (AL)

Below is a list of MLB cities and when they last hosted the ASG.

I would hope that MLB will award the ASG to Arizona very soon. And anyone who seriously believes that Bud Selig's "promise" to let KC host the ASG "between 2013 and 2015" means that KC will get an ASG in either 2013 or 2014 should contact me about how they can earn millions by helping deposit Nigerian oil money. Two things Bud Selig never does: Meet self-imposed deadlines; and Honor promises made to the public. If Selig "promised" a KC ASG "between 2013 and 2015," it will happen in 2015 at the earliest, maybe later, and probably not at all.

Nor do I see Fenway in 2012 as a realistic possibility. First off, Boston last hosted in 1999. Second, I don't see MLB muddying its universal message about the need for brand-new ballparks everywhere by spending an upcoming season telling everyone just how terrific a hundred-year-old stadium is.

Also, the National League has two more cities than the American League. The NL should get a double-dip every seven years.

So in a just world, the schedule of upcoming ASG sites would be something like: Arizona, Kansas City, Washington, Minnesota, New York Mets, Oakland, Cincinnati, San Diego, Anaheim.

Never Hosted

Arizona

Florida

Tampa Bay

Team - Most Recent ASG

New York Mets - 1964 Will Have New Stadium Since Last Hosted ASG

Washington - 1969 Will Have New Stadium Since Last Hosted ASG

Kansas City - 1973

Los Angeles Dodgers - 1980

Minnesota - 1985 Will Have New Stadium Since Last Hosted ASG

Oakland - 1987 Will Have New Stadium Since Last Hosted ASG

Cincinnati - 1988 Has New Stadium Since Last Hosted ASG

Anaheim - 1989

Chicago Cubs - 1990

Toronto - 1991

San Diego - 1992 Has New Stadium Since Last Hosted ASG

Baltimore - 1993

Texas - 1995

Philadelphia - 1996 Has New Stadium Since Last Hosted ASG

Cleveland - 1997

Colorado - 1998

Boston - 1999

Atlanta - 2000

Seattle - 2001

Milwaukee - 2002

Chicago White Sox - 2003

Houston - 2004

Detroit - 2005

Pittsburgh - 2006

San Francisco - 2007

New York Yankees - 2008 (Previous: 1977) Will Have New Stadium Since Last Hosted ASG

St. Louis - 2009 (Previous: 1966)

Of the last 50 ASGs, 22 have been held in cities now in either league's Central division. Only two teams have hosted three ASGs in the last 50 years, both now in the NL Central: Pittsburgh and Houston.

If they're smart they'd stop hosting regular season games there as well. Could you imagine trying to get in and out of that stadium during the ASG? It would take you six years. Dodgers Stadium doesn't even sniff an ASG untill they can fix the parking issues.

(offtopic) i remember the last time it was here. they had this thing at the fanfest where on a video screen there were (among others, you got to pick) Pedro Martinez and The Philly Phanatic and on the screen they would go through a pitch delivery and a ball would come out. so it was like you could hit off all these pitchers and mascots. as an 8 year old, it was the coolest thing i ever saw. if i remember correctly, when the Phanatic pitched, the ball came from his nose...(end offtopic flashback)

The one they showed at the Stadium says Yankees instead of Major League Baseball.

I think its more plain than classy. fine line between the two. borders on boring for me. and then the edgy ovals around it seem out of place.

Is this what they showed at the stadium?

Sooo... do you suppose it will be colour reversed on a white background? Because I think that might look a lot better.
