They are scrapping the numbers already--the email says the jerseys for auction were worn twice and from now on their third jersey will have numbers "that match the home and away jersey". Anyone got pix of both?Does anyone know the acutal reason for the change? I liked the retro numbers better. Gave it that extra attention to detail that people like us appreciate.I don't know the reason, but I think it's time to update your sig! Buffalo uses the darker, more 'modern' blue for their alternate jersey.Not sure that's really the case.Look at the Blues alt, and look at the navy used in the Penguins alt.I think they just in general didn't go dark enough on any of their navy's.In actuality, those navy's are dark enough that with less than perfect colors and a lack of previous knowledge they can often appear black. I ordered it the first day it was available and got in in less than two weeks.Also the Flyers changed the font of the #1 from the old school one with the super long "nose" back to a normal one. STL FANATIC Posted December 31, 2008 Share Posted December 31, 2008 So, I dunno about the teams you guys follow, but the Blues have worn their alternate about a dozen times already I'm pretty sure. Seems like it's worn 4/5 home games and occasionally on the road.I think they said how many times they were going to wear it, but they have to have thrown that out the window.My hope is that they're just marketing the heck out of it trying to bring in added revenue. It's working, by the way. Two of the people in my group at the game last night bought one, including my Dad...which is weird for him.Anyways, I love them as an alternate but would be semi-ticked to see them become anything more.(1) The Blues are a royal blue team, not a navy blue team.(2) The Blues are a yellow/gold numbered team, not a white one. (In addition, the striping on the alternate puts white over yellow/gold).(3) The Blue Note should be plastered large on the chest of any primary Blues uniform, not shrunk inside of a circle.
