2008 MLB Season

So the Red Sox got their first win in Tampa this year tonight by way of a route of the Rays, which moved them into a tie for first place. Given the number of home/away games for each team, I'd have to think the Red Sox would be the favorite to take the East at this point. Kazmir gave up 9 in 3 IP, hopefully a sign of things to come for the Rays pitching staff as we approach October baseball. A playoff spot is all but guaranteed at this point, barring a huge collapse.

I bet K-Rod goes to the Cardinals.

And what part of the Cardinals' past history of not ponying up for expensive free agents makes you think that?

Two words: Jason Isringhausen.

And yet they never replaced him, even when it was bloody well apparent to all that he wasn't any good for the last few years. Why would they change now? <_<

Dont be so sure about CC in NY.

I've heard that CC wants to pitch closer to home here in SoCal. More specifically here in Anaheim.

but then he wouldn't get to hit :D

The Phils have been mentioned because of his ties to Manuel and he's good friends with Rollins, but there's little to no chance of the Phils paying him what he wants...

The Manny Ramirez ties to Charlie Manuel brought him no where closer to Phillies pinstripes than where Sabathia appears to be heading.

It's beyond frustrating that a team that has attendance around 40k/night in a barely 4-years old playpen in the one sport that has no salary cap in a division that includes the free-spending Mets continues to impose its own payroll constraints. I'm one phan that wouldn't be opposed to following the lead of another division rival, load up for one title run, and then have a fire sale if the cost isn't sustainable over the long term. At least there's a championship somewhere in all that activity.

Or if you have Tank's mentality, the Sox were eliminated from the playoffs in May.

It would be the freakin' best if the Mets wet the bed 2 years in a row.

I don't even care that the Braves have had 2 playoff-less, division championship-less seasons in a row, seeing the Mets choke in September just makes it so much easier to swallow.

Its incredible the Mets are lifeless the last two nights pitchers they hammered last week are looking like Cy Young.

Of course when the Nats play the Phillies we will see the same effort of course

I don't know why you Mets and Phillies fans are gripping so hard, 'cause in the end, both teams are going to qualify for the playoffs.

Houston was in the hunt, but after their performance against the Cubs in Milwaukee, you can pretty much stick a fork in them.

Milwaukee's right up there as well, but they just canned the manager who got them where they are and still have 6 of their last 12 games against the NL-leading Cubs. On top of that, Sabathia is having his worst outing as a Brewer as we speak, which leads you to believe he's maybe given up as well.

This Rays team has actually been getting me into some baseball this season.

1-1 right now, bottom of the ninth. Although the Red Sox run came from a baserunner who took a clear as day third strike that wasn't called...

Wait, who is complaining now?

Great googly moogly. :censored:ing horse :censored:. This team sucks. The Rays suck. We can't :censored:ing beat them. :censored:ing 1 run losses. The umpires suck. I almost stabbed out my eyeballs with pencils. This is :censored:ing war. WAR!

(please, no one try to take my rantings too cohesively and use them against me in anti-red sox bias)

Please win tomorrow. I want no part of LA in the 1st round. Although it's more of a pride thing, just getting there is what counts as has been proven.

INTRODUCING YOUR 2008 AAA CHAMPIONS, THE SACRAMENTO RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRIIIIIIIIVER CATS!!!!!

WOO!!! BACK TO BACK TITLES!!!!!!

While I'm disappointed in the performance put together by the MLB teams I cheer for, I'm really glad to see the team that I consider my favorite baseball team, even over the pro teams, is so successful.

WOO!!! :)

Mets cant win in September its last year part II

This is the Mets how they treat their fans

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=owZPspxJ4jw&NR=1

I thought they treated them like this. (Borderline NSFW, depending on your boss's feelings on drunk fans. Also, this is not an effort to pile on, I just wanted an excuse to post that video.)
