The_Admiral
There's no L for "League" in the Expos' monogram. It's just an M with an e and a b in it.Good point on the Ball-in-Glove being the first to use the team initials. Strange that I don't mind. ♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫
DJSpeedy
If they're going to refuse to be the Jays affiliate they could at least stop using the colour scheme and general similarity of uniformsBut that is not unprecedented. When the Columbus Clippers changed affiliates from the Pirates to the Yankees in 1979, they kept their same basic scheme until the Indians became the parent club. sacker12
Outeffingstanding.Note to parent club...ditch the stupid, redundant black alternate hat and give Bucco fans a yellow hat like this!!!Could not agree. This would look so good with the Pirates' home sleeveless jersey. Actually, it will look good with both white home jerseys.

I didn't know that. The Clippers' uniforms sure looked like a Yankee farm club - blue pinstripes and all. They certainly didn't retain a Pittsburgh Pirates-themed identity, as the Syracuse Chiefs have with their very Jay-like uniforms. The Green Bay Packers Uniform Database! Now in a handy blog. Gothamite
I presume you're claiming the name "Clippers" was chosen for its connection with the "Pirates"? What else is Pirate-ish about the Clippers' set? There's a difference between a similarly nautically-named theme, and taking as many visual clues from a parent club as the Chiefs did. A clipper ship flying a pirate flag makes as much sense as Napoleon riding into battle in a tank. When we picture a pirate ship, we're probably picturing a galleon, barque, or schooner. Possibly a full-rigged frigate or ship of the line, though neither was much used by actual pirates in real life.

Those ships weren't built to mount cannon or have large prize crews. MDC
Damn....I have no connection to the Marauders whatsoever, but I am getting that hat for sure. Who gives a what kind of boat it is?"Speaking of the Syracuse Sky Chiefs, Reno Aces, and Lakeland Flying Tigers, a young Air Force pilot just back from duty in the Middle East is talking with his WWII-veteran grandfather. Gramps starts talking about one particular mission, escorting bombers across Germany."Just before we reached the target, some damn ball-bearing factory, the German fighters hit us hard. Twenty Fokkers dropped down on us from the sun, where we couldn't even see them until three of the bombers were shot to pieces. I can tell you, I didn't think any of us would make it back from that mission!"Grandson, a student of aviation history, is perplexed. "But gramps, your P-51s could fly circles around a Fokker. That should have been a turkey shoot for you!""Turkey shoot?" gramps asks. "Them f***ers were Messerschmitts!"
Mac the Knife
A little update on the Bradenton Marauders... I sent an e-mail to their general e-mail box asking about their caps. The team's GM sent me a reply, saying that their online webstore was now operational through the team's website. Apparently it became operational Monday. So I have a Marauders cap on the way! FiddySicks
I just noticed that the Rivercats are changing their caps again. A few seasons ago they ditched their original S cap for a more stylized look. Well they've decided to bring back the original home cap, but this time it's the new road cap. This is the new road cap logo. On a black hat, just like always. This is the logo that it's replacingBIG upgrade IMO. I was so disappointed that they ditched that logo the same year they switched to the new poly hats. I'll be picking one up at the first game this year for sure. On 11/19/2012 at 7:23 PM, oldschoolvikings said: She’s still half convinced “Chris Creamer” is a porn site.)
