Maybe? It won't factor into the College Football Playoff, as they're amending the eligibility requirements to needing a minimum of 8 members to eligible for an automatic bid. But they are given a 2-year grace period to add enough members to reach the NCAA-required 6 for conferences or find a new conference. The most logical way to do this is to poach 4-6 Mountain West teams. Swinging for the fences would be just merging with the MW outright. They could even lure some FCS regional teams into the mix. Say South Dakota State, North Dakota State, Montana, and/or Montana State.

But it's not gonna help them maintain Power 5 status. That ship has sailed. Quote https://dribbble.com/MakaioCall

Something like… Pacific Northwest Coastal Mountain Valley Athletic Conference PNWCMVAC for short.

At the moment, it appears Oregon State and Washington State could maintain control of the Pac-# name and history. Besides, will we ever see an actual superconference like how things are going in the FBS? I mean, not from a numbers standpoint, but we're pretty much at the point where the Big Sky and MVFC are the two FCS super-conferences thanks to almost every successful program below the Mason-Dixon line moving up to FBS over the last decade-plus. The more FCS auto-bids there are, the fewer good teams are actually in the bracket.
Burmy
If the conference vote goes their way, the Beavs and Wazzu are joining the WCC at least for 2024-25 and 2025-26. Oregon State and Portland having a rivalry could bring out the best in each other, and a Wazzu-Zags conference series would be the stuff that dreams are made of!

Oregon State is gonna spend their sojourn in this league pretending Portland doesn't exist, given the relative performance of the two athletic departments. The Pilots have been on the cusp of contendership for a good while, and I think having a true rival in the Beavers is gonna do wonders to their mindset and momentum...it'll also help the Beavs be perennial March contenders.
