RedRenesis
In case anyone out there thought the Comcast/NBC Universal merger wouldn't end up being bad for television in general, well:Versus has just announced that beginning with this Monday's game, Lucky Pierre McGuire will spew forth his inanities from between the benches for their telecasts. And starting Tuesday, Mike Milbury will bring his "Don Cherry For Dummies" schtick to national cable. No word yet on their efforts to make the Blackhawks' 2nd intermission "shoot the puck" competition an hour-long affair hosted by Guy Fieri.I have a very low tolerance for McGuire, and its not a lot better for Milbury. What really irritates me is how McGuire talks down to viewers on American broadcasts, I understand hockey's weak popularity in the US but that doesnt mean the people who watch it are borderline retarded like he addresses us. What reinforces the point is that when he does TSN games he doesnt act that way. Milbury isnt much different, get him on national TV in the US and its douchebag city, keep him on NESN or the CBC and the act gets dialed back. oddball
Pierre McGuirre doesn't bother me. Mike Milbury... well please whatever you do, stop comparing him to Don Cherry. Being able to watch Don Cherry on a regular basis this year, very little that he says is controversial or even out there. His jackets might be out there. Mike Milbury, well he just doesn't know the game at all and proves it every time he opens his mouth.

wildwing64
Now here's something you don't see every year. Right now, all five Pacific Division teams have a playoff spot. And I'd have posted an image here for everyone's conveniance, but for no apparent reason neither Photobucket or Imageshack are working for me. Santa gave them special sand-skates that allowed them to play in shorts and t-shirts in 115 degree weather. Jesus, Zeus and Buddha watched from the sidelines and ate cotton candy. In 09 Nashville was the only central division team to miss the playoffs and they were only out by 3 points. I bet we see every team in a given division make the playoffs sooner rather than later. It's really not as crazy as it seems as the divisions are pretty much worthless in the NHL.

Don
Forsberg is back!Hopefully he will be healthy and productive.I dont expect him to play center, I think he'll end up playing on Duchenes wing, and that will be lethal. The reason he has not played in the NHL since 2008? I did not feel he was healthy enough to play at the NHL level and be effective. There are a lot of differences between Forsberg and Favre. BrySmalls
So fill me in on today's Caps - Pens game as I was nowhere near a television until now, but I heard that Green got injured, a Pens call-up dropped the gloves with Steckel in retaliation to the accidental hit on Crosby during the Winter Classic, and Cooke tripped Ovechkin; but Ovechkin and Backstrom responded by punching Cooke and neither of them didn't get called for a penalty..Edit:

Don
Not surprised Cooke didnt oblige Bradley after he got out of the box, maybe he was waiting for Johnny to fight that battle for him too?
