Sigh... how come every time one member gets suspended for being annoying, another one immediately takes his place in the annoyance chain?

Dexter, you're being a complete homer. Nobody cares (other than Yankee fans) about Mariano Rivera and his spitballs. Give it a rest, please. And if it makes you feel any better, I loathe the Red Sox as much as I loathe the Yankees.

Dude no need to get angry. Personally I don't mind all of the Yankee statuses because I'm a Yankee fan. But I could see how it could be very annoying for someone who doesn't care for them very much. You've got to remember: for every Yankee fan, there are 20 Yankee haters. So since everyone hates the Yankees so much, they're going to get annoyed seeing the Yankees a lot in this thread. No one really hates the Rangers, Indians, Braves, or Mariners, so it doesn't anger them when they see those posts. If I were you I'd just cool down with all of the Yankees news for a while. Let their play do the talking.

Sorry, I'm not going roll over and shut up because some posters don't want to read anything about the Yankees. That's their problem not mine. This is a baseball forum, anyone can discuss any team they like.

I'm a homer. Really. Because I brought up Mariano Rivera and Derek Jeter's milestones. Give me a break. If you don't care, that's fine, you are entitled not to care, I'm also entitled not to care that you don't care.

Now back to actual baseball talk:

I'm not sure if this has been discussed already but I just found out that there will be captains for the Home Run Derby and those captains will be able to choose their three other teammates. Apparently the captains are Price Fielder and David Ortiz. Personally I think that this is a great idea by the MLB, and I'd like to see how it shapes out and who the two captains pick.

These Giants aren't going anywhere in the playoffs. What a general ineptitude.

I knew all that hitting wouldn't last. Amazing how the injury bug had to hit the only Giants who were keeping that lineup afloat. They have such a strong pitching staff that they're only a few pieces from being a really scary team IMO when healthy, problem Is they're decimated with injuries.

Yea that mess does get pretty annoying. Yankees fans know what is going on with their team. Don't waste everyone Else's time telling us too. You don't see me posting something every time the Braves get a win, or when Dan Uggla actually gets a hit. Take the hint given to you by fellow bard members and stop while you still can.

Sorry, point out where I have posted about a Yankee win or a player getting a meaningless base hit.

I've posted mostly about players reaching baseball milestones. 3,000 hits, 300 home runs, 600 saves.

And by milestone you mean "anything evenly divisible by 10"

Rumor is the Marlins will open up their new ballpark against the Cardinals on April 4, 2012. Others rumors have it being a one game home stand which could mean it's being groomed for ESPN as the kickoff to the entire season.

Didn't the Nationals do a one game series against the Braves when their ballpark opened in 08'?

OK, any Atlanta fans want to take the time to rub it in my face after the Braves swept the M's?

*sigh* Damn this worst-in-the-AL-at-batting offense...

I'm just looking at their team batting averages now. Is there something in the water up there? How do you hit .227 as a team in today's game?

Ichiro is the only one on the team that is comfortably above .250 You got Chone Figgins hitting .186 with a whopping 1 HR. He was an all-star two years ago in Anaheim. What the hell happened to him?

This has been a problem for the last few seasons. I know last year was historically bad one for the Mariners on offense, and if I knew what it is... I'd tell ya.

A guy like Figgins, who was a big name that they signed, should NOT be hitting less then .200. I think it may have to do with the fact that Safeco is a pitcher friendly park. In the case of Ichiro, the park doesn't really matter... The guy is going to get his 200 hits no matter what.

I know Safeco's a pitcher's park, but its not that much of a pitcher's park to explain the 1960's type averages. They do play road games, right? Thank god the pitching and defense are great because if they were anything less Seattle would be the worst team in baseball without question.

With Figgins I don't know what's going on. If your hitting .188 it ain't the park, its you. If I'm the Mariners I'm seriously considering releasing him. Just cannot have a .200 singles hitter in the lineup, but unfortunately for Seattle that's roughly half the team which might be the only thing saving a guy like Figgins from being released.

Well, yeah they play games on the road as well... But the road hasn't been kind to the M's as well (16-20 on the road. Only Oakland [16-28], Baltimore [13-21] and Kansas City [10-24] are worst on the road in the AL).

As I said before, If I knew what the problem was, I'd tell ya pmoerhin. But, I don't know and that's the baffling part.

They sure did. Ended with a walk-off too. Great way to open a stadium.

3 posts. Oh the horror!

3 totally pointless posts is more like it. You're posting the baseball equivalent of "Hey, the sky is blue today." That's why everyone is on you.

Oh, and I voted for Beltre three more times yesterday. B)

Yeah, I think if I'm not mistaken Zimmerman hit a walk-off to dead center. I have no idea why I remember that.

They should get rid of this pitcher win-loss system and start applying them to batters. If you have the bases loaded with 1 out, losing 1-0, and you ground into a double play, then you get the loss, no matter what your position is. You blew the game, not your pitcher. Especially if it was a no hitter. It means everybody who batted was worthless. Give them all losses! THE WHOLE LOT OF 'EM! THEY'RE RUBBISH. BOLLOCKS.
