oddball
Whew. Great series, the Kings are one helluva team. Had Kopitar not gotten hurt this would've been a much different series. No it wouldn't have. The Kings have power play issues that need to be solved. Yeah sure they scored on two tonight, but that doesn't change the fact that their power play is horrible and predictable. Kopitar would not have changed the fact that they took a whole period off when they had a 4-0 lead last Tuesday, they seemed to do it all year with Kopitar. Kopitar wouldn't have changed that they took a whole game off last Thursday. You obviously never watched this team on a consistent basis. Good teams don't go 2-7 on 9 game home stands. Good teams don't tank away the whole month of November. They were not a good team. They were a lucky team. A lucky team that squeaked into the playoffs because they had two good runs. Their power play was pathetic, and the coaching staff needs to be fired because they have no clue what they are doing. So no, Kopitar wouldn't have changed things at all. What you saw was a team that hasn't learned to win and hasn't learned to battle. It's been the same thing all year long, and it's the coaching staff's fault and the leadership on the ice, aka Dustin Brown who mopes when he doesn't score, Kopitar, and of course Matt Greene who is too slow to play the game and takes stupid penalties. Things need to change starting with the coaching staff and change of the on ice leadership. Dustin Brown just mopes and disappears when he doesn't score. Where was Dustin Brown in this series? He needs to step up when the Kings need him and he just mopes and disappears.
IronChefShark
I know one thing for sure. When the second round starts, regardless of who the opponent is,......Jamie McGinn out, Ben Eager back in.McGinn did deserve a penalty on that play. Maybe not 5 minutes, however. US state flag concepts

NEW.ERA
I think the handshake is a great tradition. I mean it's kind of a contridiction, after you beat the crap out of one another and in no other sport is there so much hate between two teams then in hockey. The handshake is really a great job, go kick ass in the next round or see you next year bit*hes. It's all in sportsmanship. The_Admiral
Bickell now out 6-8 weeks, christ. Kopecky, if healthy, needs to be a man and step it up right away. That honestly could be a huge momentum shift away from the Blackhawks, Bickell was playing a tremendous series. If Bickell broke his wrist due to his headshot on Bieksa, it would amuse me greatly. Not a break. Bickell got his tendons slashed in Game 2 and missed Game 3. Scored that opening goal and that Bolland goal with tendon damage. As a Chicago guy, how do you feel about that hit vs the Torres hit? They seem to me to be at least equal, but I don't see too much being made of it in the media, whereas Torres was being made out to be the second coming of Ulf Samulesson.I don't know, I thought it was pretty borderline myself, but apparently anything goes in the Designated Hitting Area, so it doesn't matter. ♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫

For the record, despite what I said a couple of pages back I must admit that I don't actually recall any diving from the Predators. Then again I wasn't actually able to watch the first two games because they started at like 3am for me so I wouldn't have seen it anyway. DAMN YOU WORLD CLOCK. Seadragon76
Sharks fans, pick your posion: Red Wings or Blackhawks in the next round?Never heard of a posion before. Is that like the half-assed way to spell 'fish' in French? Now, if I was a Sharks fan, I'd rather take the Blackhawks. You know that this 7 game series and the comeback from 0-3 is taking a lot out of them. If I was a coach of a team, I'd rather have the tired team then the team that has been off for nearly two weeks so they can heal the injured players. A lot. It's the NHL that I generally don't like, but I've been watching the playoffs quite a bit, seeing as how the sport is so good that it transcends a lot of the things I don't like about the NHL. Heck, maybe I'll even get into it enough that I'll watch as regularly as I used to (meaning regular season games).Ok, and what did I say that makes me hate everything about everything? The two teams don't like each other, but every player has enough sense of tradition and history to swallow their gripes and shake hands no matter how much they dislike each other. I wish they did it in other sports. Ok, and what did I say that makes me hate everything about everything?Your need to hate on everything fun. You're one of the crabbiest posters on the boards.
