Orioles 2012 Changes

maybe a new primary should be on the docket. having 2 different birds is weird to me

Three - they still have this logo in their set:

They should have cleaned him up as well to match the cap logo.

None of their various bird logos look good together, which is a big problem I have with this set.

The swinging bird logo is classic and they shouldn't mess with it. It never matched up exactly with the previous versions of the cartoon bird logos either, so I don't see a problem with it now.

I love the swinging bird, but I had to see what it would look like.

That's pretty good! I wish they would of made this the primary logo! Good job Orioles on the changes....I feel like a teenager again with the "new" look! Now, if there was an Eddie Murray Jr.............. :)

Ok it's a bit off topic, but the colors PANTONE posted earlier in this thread got me wondering. How close is the new Marlins orange to the Dolphins coral? It's looks pretty darn close to me.

Miami Dolphins Coral = Baltimore Orioles Orange.

not a fan of panel caps but i think it fits the team and i think the logo looks better against the white than it does against the black. the home and road uni's look great. my only complaint is the white panel cap looks out of place ontop of the orange alt. should've went with the road cap or kept the 90's-2000's bird for the alt.

it would've fit IMO.

Good set though.

I still have that black hat. When I pick up the orange, I'm pairing them.

Go Astros!

Go Texans!

Go Rockets!

Go Javelinas!

To be fair, the White Sox did make the ALCS in 1983 and finished in the top half of the AL West on two other occasions during their tenure.

The team those Tony LaRussa-managed Pale Hose lost to in '83? The Orioles.

To be fair, they didn't wear the softball uniforms with the short pants that year, they wore these..

I referenced those in my original comment when I referred to the "beach blanket" design. Sorry, I shouldn't have assumed that everyone knew what I meant by that.

From San Berdoo to Kalamazoo.

After thinking more about the set, I've partially changed my stance on the white-panel cap - it actually looks really great on the orange alternate and fits well there. That said, I still don't like it at all on the home. The black-crown cap should've also been the home cap in my mind. But again, the paneled cap on the orange alt has significantly grown on me throughout the day.

The opinions I express are mine, and mine only. If I am to express them, it is not to say you or anyone else is wrong, and certainly not to say that I am right.

To those who don't like the gap on the road grays between "Bal" and the rest of the name, take a look at the gap between "Ori" and the rest of that word.

Something about the orange one screams "Chinese counterfeit". Maybe it's the size/placement of the wordmark...

Disclaimer: If this comment is about an NBA uniform from 2017-2018 or later, do not constitute a lack of acknowledgement of the corporate logo to mean anything other than "the corporate logo is terrible and makes the uniform significantly worse."

This is why I like pullovers better than button-down jerseys. The buttons, while "classy" and "traditional", interfere with almost every team's design and leads to either an ugly double-vision effect on part of the script or an obnoxiously-long gap between letters. Of course, the Orioles didn't have those problems back in the day.

Just to connect a gap is not enough reason to bring back the hideous and dated pullovers.

Wrong, those may be as good as it gets for pullovers, but they are still far inferior to their button-down counterparts. Having some scripts messed up is not justification for baseball teams to wear football jerseys. Besides, designers can work around the split if they are smart.
