After a whole lockout in which they promised things would be different, the league basically just took a big, hot, steaming dump on every promise they made to the small market franchises now. Who the hell is going to play forward on this team now?It's almost like the Lakers are overthinking it. Obviously there are more things to come. This deal on its own is almost a regression. So I'm going to wait to judge the roster as a whole once we're ready to start the season. Right now, I love CP3. The NBA is definitely rigged.Nope. I'm not trying to hear conspiracy when all the Clippers had to do was include Gordon and they'd be the ones with Chris Paul. Other teams (Warriors & Celtics come to mind immediately) had plenty of opportunity to get deals done and they didn't do it. The Lakers did, & I'm not mad at the Lakers at all for making this deal happen. If this was any other team, we'd be lauding Kupchak as a genius and incredibly trade savvy. AND- on the bright side, there's a chance that this deal will end the Dwight Howard to the Lakers talk, which would make them better than Paul IMO. He basically lowballed his way to letting the Lakers have another free dynasty.There's nothing I'd love more than to see Paul not extend with the Lakers, and then leave for the Knicks or even the Clippers at the end of the season, leaving the Lakers with an aging Kobe and no Pau or Odom.
