2012 NFL Offseason Thread

They'd also do well to consider the examples of Mark Brunell and Matt Hasselbeck, both of whom were pretty good backups behind His Holy Favreness in Green Bay before moving on to become pretty good starters elsewhere. (Hell--their current starter was a pretty good backup behind His Holy Favreness who's now a pretty good starter in his own right.)

Point being that teams looking to mine starting QBs from other teams' crops could do worse than Green Bay's stable...and they've got a recent track record of success to back it up.

Counterpoint...

He was okay for a couple of years at least.

Ah yes, (not my cousin) Aaron Brooks.

But...didn't he spend just his rookie season in Green Bay, third string behind Hasselbeck at the time? And correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Aaron also set some records for the Saints as a starter?

(Not saying the guy was all-world--neither was/is Matt Hasselbeck--but he was pretty steady for the few years he was in New Orleans, no?)

So the committee on infractions is about to burn Eugene to the ground I take it.

As a Bucs fan, and as someone who likes Oregon and the way they play, I like it. He'll throw blows with Legarrett :P

Ray Lewis is going to be back for his 18th season in 2012, all but one season with the Ravens. (Stupid rules about team histories, but that's a story for another time.)

Stop trolling.

Well played, Daniel. :P

I'll be blount: I don't like this move AT ALL. I do not see this working out any more than a season or two. That said, Tampa Bay never has had any kind of decent offense; Chip Kelly is all about offense. That, probably more than anything else, is what it was about, in my mind. I will say this though: what happened to all that "we want a HC with previous NFL head coaching experience?"?

And just what's about to go down up there in Eugene???

Jay Cutler knocked up Cavallari. Thankfully the baby will be born just in time for the first couple weeks of the 2012 season. Great timing, Jay.
