I'll not be too biased about this, but these are my award winners

AL MVP: Evan Longoria- The reason is that Albert and Prince have an elite supporting cast; Prince with Miguel Cabrera and Albert with Vernon Wells and Trumbo. Evan last year, especially in September, was basically carring his team to the postseason. If he has a breakout season and takes his team to the postseason, he will win the MVP.

AL Cy Young: Justin Verlander- Same as Evan, but for pitchers.

AL Rookie of the Year: Matt Moore- I believe that he will have an amazing season with 18 wins and an ERA less than 3.00. If he wins this year, the Rays wiil have two straight rookie of the year winners (Hellickson- 2011).

NL MVP: Joey Votto- With Prince and Albert gone, this makes it easier for Joey to win the award. Also, he faces the same problem with Evan Longoria with the lineup. I think he will destroy NL Central pitching this year.

NL Cy Young: Roy Halladay- Albert and Prince's disapperance will make it easier for Roy to strike out batters.

NL Rookie of the Year: Bryce Harper- He would win it, if he is on the starting lineup.

If we're doing this, then

AL MVP: Adrian Gonzalez- He will have another great year, and I think the Sox can pull out after an epic collapse and lead them to a division championship.

AL Cy Young: Justin Verlander- He's just waaaaaay too good.

AL Rookie of the Year: I'm not too sure who will win, but I can assure you that someone unexpected will win it.

AL Comeback Player: Kendrys Morales- If he can plaly, and make an impact, then he would win this award by a long shot

NL MVP: Troy Tulowitzki- The Rockies will make the playoffs for sure, and he is going to be the main piece to the puzzle.

NL Cy Young: Tim Lincecum- He is going to return back to his regular form, and win his 3rd Cy Young.

NL Rookie of the Year: Bryce Harper- If he can play, then he will run away with this award.

NL Comeback Player: Josh Johnson- Johnson is going to be the ace of the Marlins pitching staff, and will have to be the leader. Josh will prove his dominance while pitching for a playoff contending club for the first time.

Yankees finally sign Ibanez for 1.1m plus incentives (can make up to 4m) ... just dont know why they had to "clear room" for him by trading Burnett, if it was only 1.1m that should be affordable even with AJ. Also sounds like they will sign Chavez soon.

In other random signing news. Manny Ramirez will sign with the A's for 500k. Still has to sit out 50 games. Moneyball at its finest.

I'm guessing Ibanez will be the lefty DH paired with Jones.

I would hope so, because he pretty much sucks at this point in every facet of the game.

Don't have your cellphone on during a press conference.

Albert Pujols got fined for that goof.

I'm sure that's going to really hurt his account balance. I mean, he's barely getting by as it is now.

He's only making $12mil this year. Now he's gotta coupon it until that $30mil kicks in in 10 years. All because he couldn't set it on vibrate. Better have been God calling.

AL Comeback Player: Joe Mauer

If Buster Posey has the year that the Giants expect him to, there really isn't a guy out there who will get close to getting the NL comeback player of the year award IMO

Valid argument, I think Buster Posey would be a better choice than Jimmy Rollins.

AL MVP: Jose Bautista - it's about time he gets recognized for his ridiculous offensive productivity.

AL Cy Young: James Shields - much like Felix Hernandez, he'll win it on the strength of sabermetrics. He's coming off a season with his highest RE24, WAR, and starting value in his career, and barring unforeseen circumstances, he'll contribute even more on a Rays team that looks like a force to be reckoned with again in the AL East.

AL Rookie: It's a crapshoot... Yu Darvish, I guess?

AL Comeback: Joe Mauer - even with his disappointing year last season, Bill James projects a solid .878 OPS, 87 wRC, .351 BABIP season for him in 2012.

NL MVP: Mike Stanton - surprise! The media is sleeping on him, despite greatly-improved plate discipline and solid defense last season. Having Reyes in front of him will give him an opportunity to raise his RBI, too. The voters may be hesitant to give it to someone so young, but I think he'll have a breakout year.

NL Cy Young: Ian Kennedy - he had a breakout year last year (5.5 WAR, 1.086 WHIP, 35.57 RE24) and should only keep getting better. People are actually talking about the D-Backs now, so if they can defend their division title, he should be out in front of the Cy race.

NL Rookie: Bryce Harper - duh.

NL Comeback: Buster Posey - I'm in full agreement with Bucfan.

BTW, did I really see someone refer to Vernon Wells as "elite"? HAHAHAHAHAHA!

AL MVP: Albert Pujols. I believe he will help the Angels go further in the playoffs, and maybe finally get that elusive second pennant. He has a good supporting cast, which takes pressure off of him, so I wouldn't be surprised to see him get 110+ RBI's.

AL Cy Young: Jered Weaver. He was in the race last year until he started to struggle a bit in late summer. He was dominant in the beginning of the year, but didn't do as well later on, and Verlander had a season for the ages. This year, I wouldn't be surprised to see him dominant the entire year.

AL Rookie: Yu Darvish. I was going to say Mike Trout, but I don't think he'll get the playing time. Darvish seems like he'll be a pretty good pitcher, and honestly, I couldn't think of anyone else.

AL Comeback: Joe Mauer or Kendrys Morales. I can't decide, I think both will have very good seasons. Mauer probably has the advantage because he only has to come back from a sub-par season, not a broken leg.

NL MVP: Matt Kemp. Pujols and Fielder are out of the NL, Braun might not get the support from the media no matter how good of a season he has, and Kemp will be hungry to get the MVP award he thought he deserved. I wouldn't be surprised if guys like Ryan Howard or Jose Reyes gave him a run for his money, though.

NL Cy Young: Roy Holladay. I think it will be his year, again.

NL Rookie: Bryce Harper.

NL Comeback: Tim Lincecum. Wasn't as good as before last year, but I think he will return to greatness this year.

What the hell, I'll bite:

AL MVP: As much as I want to vote for Albert Pujols, I'm going to go with Miguel Cabrera. Batting with Prince behind him is only going to pad his stats.

AL Cy Young: Jered Weaver. I think it's finally his year.

AL Rookie of the Year: Matt Moore. I just don't think Trout's going to play enough in that crowded outfield, and I'm hesitant to say Darvish or the Cespederast before seeing them play.

AL Comeback Player: Kendrys Morales. Or Vernon Wells. I have a feeling one of these Angels will win this.

NL MVP: LightsOut already said it, but Mike Stanton. Dude's gonna explode.

NL Cy Young: Kershaw repeats

NL Rookie of the Year: Bryce Harper's the seemingly obvious choice here.

NL Comeback Player: Josh Johnson. He was my pick for Cy Young last year, so I figure he should be a lock for CPOY if he's healthy.

Keep your eyes on Cole Hamels for Cy Young. Dude has grown up a ton in the past few years, and has the benefit of being a #1 going against teams' #3s. I'd rank him ahead of Halladay right now (not overall, but in terms of odds for the Cy Young.)

So the Red Sox got Chris Carpenter as compensation for Theo Epstein.

Don't worry, the Mets always have the "wrong" player too.

They had the wrong Bob Gibson, and they had the "wrong" Pedro Martinez (well, until 2005 anyway).

I give the Angels a 2-year window to utilize Pujols and C.J. and win at least one WS title before I call the winter blockbuster a disaster-of-a-deal they did with St. Louis.

This just in the New York Mets have clinched last place.

This just in: the Mets and Dodgers will play a best 3-of-5 series to determine who's franchise is not doomed for 50 years. The loser gets the wooden spoon and absorbs the debt of the winnning team.

So before the Yankees traded Burnett they were said to have about 2 million to spend on a DH... but they wanted to trade Burnett for cap relief... then they go an sign Ibanez (1.1m) and Chavez (900k) = 2m. I just dont understand why the yankees felt they needed to say Burnett had to be traded before they could spend the money that they were going to already spend.

Not that it really matters and its better off that AJ is gone. I think Ibanez will do fine as a part time DH and you already know what youre gonna get for Chavez.

They didn't do any deal with St. Louis. They signed him as a free agent.
