They also beat a team comprised of Godzilla, the ghost of Abraham Lincoln, 2 Power Rangers and Betty White. Oh, and they played in the middle of Iraq on a military base. In the sand. With no ice. Santa gave them special sand-skates that allowed them to play in shorts and t-shirts in 115 degree weather. Jesus, Zeus and Buddha watched from the sidelines and ate cotton candy. CS85
A better challenge would be to find teams that have no primary/alternate logos of any kind that reflect their namesake. FiddySicks
I think a lot of these need to be crossed out, because even though that specific logo doesn't represent the name, most have at least have one logo in their set that does. Two teams that instantly come to mind are the San Francisco Giants and Los Angeles Dodgers. Granted, they both are old and are as well extremely hard to depict (Giants would just look stupid, Dodgers you really can't considering they are named after a cable car, which are nowhere to be found in LA and is a representation of the city of their biggest rivals), but those are both great examples. Xodius
The Senators and the Steelers logos both reflect the team name.Technically, the Senators' logo is a Roman centurion. People bitch about it, but honestly it's not something to lose sleep over.

Nachos Rule Your Soul
And probably most college teams since a lot of logos are based around the school name and not the nickname. loogodude90
None of the Yankees logos really depict a "Yankee."I consider that stars-and-stripes tophat to be a reference to a Yankee.Rayslogo.pngThe logo didn't show up, but I am almost positive there is a sun RAY in their logo. Those lines look like abstract trails that were "blazed" by the 10 players on the court. I'm pretty sure that's what they are supposed to represent. WIZARDS ORIOLES CAPITALS RAVENS UNITED

BlueSky
Got a chuckle out of the Steelers being included...considering this is the logo of the American Iron & Steel Institute:This is going to be a very long list I think, and I'd have to include the Saints, whose logo symbolizes the city of New Orleans but not the team's nickname:
