Morgan33
Great post. Why they decided to remove the fin logo from that template I will never know. Looks fantastic on those grey, shoulder-to-arm yokes. I heard the Sharks were planning to add red to their scheme back in 2006 but assumed it would be added to the entire uniform (not just the eye of the shark). The Giant Pacific Octopus
Is that a hockey jersey or a ballgown? That quote made me think of an old quote in regards to the New York Americans. When the team debuted in 1925/26, they played thier first game against the Boston BruinsWhen the Amerks skated out onto the ice, one of the Bruin players stated."They looked so pretty in those uniforms. I wasn't sure if we were to play hockey against them or dance with them".That quote always made me laugh. Anyway in regards to the San Jose Sharks, do we all agree on this in terms of uniform modifications?1. Get rid of the numbers on the front2. Replace orange with grey3. Put the shark fin logo on the shoulders4. Go back to the original shade of light teal from 1991.Do I got it right? The Catch of the Day!
Puckguy14
I agree with all of that, but keep the deep pacific teal primarily, use the original pacific teal as a accent color. More teal the better! 2004 San Jose Sharks 7th Man Fan of the Year San Jose Gold Miners - 4x Lombardi Cup Champions

I own one current jersey(given as a gift) about 10 of the previous generation. I want to add to my collection but I hate the new jerseys and I'm hoping they make the changes I want. FiddySicks
It's such a shame the Sharks went with what they have now. The previous set was by far my favorite ever, and I'm still bummed I never picked up a home (teal) jersey from that set. Their new logo is a huge improvement, but the addition of that strange yellowish orange color on the jerseys absolutely killed it for me. If they ditched the orange for grey, deepened the teal back to the original shade, and went with a template similar to their last set, they'd be perfect. youcan'tseeme
The update for the Sharks is very nice but seems very comic bookish to me, I'd go as far as saying return to the old logo, it was a modern classic.
Mr. Krabs
What about Tampa? Are they officially going to bring black back or victory stripes into their look in the foreseeable future as I heard?

TruColor
Here are the four (maybe actually three) shades of Teal the Sharks have used over the years:I said "maybe", because it's unclear whether or not that 2007-2008 shade was actually used. When the Sharks unveiled their new look for 2007-2008, it included that darker shade of Deep Pacific Teal. The uniforms seemed to match the present color; it's possible that the (2007-)2008 shade was never actually used on ice.

The deep dark almost Philly Eagle green was used in everything but the jerseys. I guess either Reebok couldn't do that darker teal or Reebok generalized the colors (iirc the yellowish golds in the league was basically changed to one regular shade) and Reebok would match SJ with the Jaguars. 2004 San Jose Sharks 7th Man Fan of the Year San Jose Gold Miners - 4x Lombardi Cup Champions

NYYNYR
I feel like someone has to be the voice of reason here.1. The Sharks had very nice inaugural jerseys, yes. However, the updates to the logo and jersey have been blessings for the team aesthetic, IMHO. You can argue the numbers on the front, etc., but look at the overall jersey. It's really solid. It's traditional while hearkening to the original Shark identity. I love it. The idea that they "ruined" it is garbage. The logo is 100x better. But I guess we can argue all day over that...2. (More importantly) While I've heard bloggers and fans opine about the return of grey and the banishment of orange (which is fair, I suppose), we've heard nothing even remotely official (if so, can you show me?) pointing to which direction the team is headed. For all we know, the ugly-ass blacks will be the primary, and they'll make a sloppy white version of it. People could be setting themselves up for disappointment.
