Juventus changed their logo, and now they suck is the contex

They're second in Serie A.  If they changed the logo back in 2006 when they were relegated for match fixing then there'd be something to this.  Not in this case.

Even before the absolute disaster that is their 2023-24 season (which they tie the worst single season losing streak in NBA history), the Pistons have not been competitive ever since they modernized their Bad Boys logo in 2017-18. 1 playoff appearance in 6 seasons and were swept in the 1st round.

And now losing Shohei to the Dodgers who also add Yamamoto.. bleak times for Anaheim gets even bleaker

This has to be one of the most disastrous rebrands because (at least IMO), the rebrand was a huge part of their downfall as a company. They had their own brand with distinctive colors, unique wall decorations, and fun menu names - and threw it all away to be Chipotle 2: Electric Boogaloo. Shortly thereafter, they are closing locations left and right. Turns out if people want Chipotle, they will go to Chipotle.

The logo itself is not that bad. And it is not even the lamest rebrand to a Mexican restaurant chain.

Just a company recovering from near bankruptcy from COVID by nuking everything that made them succesful in the first place. No more animatronics, no more good aesthetics in general, just a soulless Dave and Busters copy. No kid wants to go here.

It's funny because the logo change almost directly aligns with the downfall, the old logo was great.

Mind you that they won the league 9 seasons in a row between 2011-12 and 2019-20 and played 2 Champions League finals during that period.

However, between 2020-21 and 2022-23, they have been pretty mediocre, finishing the league 4th twice and 7th last season. They have also been humiliated in their Champions League campaign last year, only being able to collect 3 points in the Group Stage while losing to lowly Maccabi Haifa. Additionally, they have been hit with a Financial Fair-Play violation this season, causing them to be kicked out from European competitions.

Personally, on top of the rebrand being extremely controversial, when I look at the old logo it reminds me of the successful Juventus and the new one just evokes feelings of mediocrity.

The team has won 3 Scudettos while wearing their new logo, and if they win it this season, that would mean they have won more than half the league championships they have played while wearing that crest. It's very premature to associate that logo with failure when Juve look to be getting back to dominating the Italian game, and continue to be one of a handful of Italian clubs to build and own their own stadium, which gives them a massive advantage over their rivals who won't be able to claim that for quite a while yet.

Atleast I was never called “the absolute worst” by a morbidly obese sweaty Mets fan.

But it turned out New Jersey Transit really was the absolute worst.

Conrail and the Penn Central both had quintessentially 1970s logos and I believe both failed spectacularly.

♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫
