No one seems to be giving the Hawks much of a chance (apparently the scoring and prevention of goals have been usurped on the scoreboard by Winning Board Battles™), but the Kings are basically a better version of the Blues, and the Hawks have had little trouble handling the Blues. I'm not saying the Hawks will win, but they certainly won't be outclassed. Just gotta watch out for dirty hits from Duthtin Brown!

Don't get me wrong, LA is a very good team, but compared to last years' run, they've seemingly been more lucky. The Blues missed a lot of open nets against them, Penners' goal at the buzzer in Game 6, the Sharks had an unlucky 2 man advantage against them and Pavelski just couldn't lift the puck over Quick toward the end of Game 7. It's just depressing to go toe to toe with them and just come up short. It wasn't like previous years when the other team was clearly better. Like I've stated before, hopefully Quick repeats this in Sochi next year.

True, but isn't it luck and bounces that basically decides the champion when you have very evely matched teams remaining?

Thankfully, I only have one person that talks about hockey on my fb list, and he may have posted something once on in the calender year on the Stars.. The rest of the people on my list don't even know hockey exists here.

I don't get the last part. Jonathan Quick doesn't own the Hawks (anecdotally they beat him more than they don't), and the Hawks don't vastly outshoot opponents and trail as a matter of course.

This should be interesting, as Quick hasn't seen an elite offense in the playoffs since the Canucks last year, and even they weren't themselves for (wipes mouth) some reason which I cannot remember

I wasn't referring to Quick owning the Hawks. I was referring to that Chicago has a way of making things seem close (as they are now) or that they done effed up (Detroit), but they'll probably come back and score 5 in the third anyway.
