FinalBeast
The red jersey with navy and white piping features the Braves script in navy with white stars and includes an American flag patch on the left sleeve. After each game the jerseys are worn, they will be auctioned off online with the proceeds going to several military-supportive charities including the USO, the Wounded Warrior Project, United Military Care, Inc., the Shepard Center's SHARE Program and BraveHeart: Welcome Back Veterans Southeast Initiative.A portion of the proceeds from the sales of authentic military appreciation jerseys sold at Turner Field and the Braves Clubhouse Store at CNN Center will go to the Wounded Warriors Project. The Braves will wear these special jerseys during the following games:April 26 vs. Cincinnati Reds - Military Family NightJune 13 Los Angeles Angels - United States Army AnniversaryJuly 26 San Diego Padres - United States Marines CelebrationAugust 30 Miami Marlins - United States Navy CelebrationSeptember 19 New York Mets - United States Air Force Anniversaryhttp://atlanta.braves.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20140205&content_id=67475392&vkey=pr_atl&c_id=atlI'm glad this was posted. I really do not like the design of the new red alternate at all but they are doing this in the right way. I saw the main site says these replace the old red alternate but haven't seen anything from the team confirming that. I am really hoping it is true because that means we won't have the red alt on a weekly basis like we used to. That was my main gripe with the Braves- with the standard unis, cream weekend alt, blue road alt, and the red alt, things were getting very cluttered. Now if this new red alt is limited to five outings the whole year, hopefully we will have a bit of normalcy. Standard uniforms for most games, cream alt for weekends and occasionally break out the navy on the road. Though I would be perfectly fine if the navy went away all together. As for the new Diamond Era cap, I am completely on board. Really love it!Here is the confirmation.http://www.ajc.com/news/sports/baseball/braves-home-red-jerseys-dropped-from-lineup/ndFBp/It sounds like the Braves will wear the traditional white uniforms Monday-Friday and the cream colored alternates on the weekends. Also has anyone heard what hat will be worn with the military jerseys? I was just curious as to whether the cap with the tomahawk through the "A" has been dropped as well since it was paired with the original red jersey. phutmasterflex
Looks like Uni Watch is confirming the A's jersey using the image I created (from here http://butattheendoftheday.com/2014/01/14/new-athletics-green-alternate-jersey-is-on-the-way/ )https://twitter.com/UniWatch/status/431489331530706944 Go A's! DarthBrett
Well that Oakland A's alt was one of the longest tenured alternates in baseball ('94-'13). The current White Sox black alt is the only one that has lasted longer ('93-now).
phutmasterflex
I think what I really liked about that alt was their original decision to have the sun elephant logo on the sleeve Go A's!

TheOldRoman
I'm probably in the minority, but I really liked thisIf there's anything worse than Majestic's sloppy wide-shouldered vests, it's a baggy version on a fat guy. It looks like a guy in a 4XL t-shirt, where the supposed short sleeves go halfway down his forearms.Anyway, I hated that Twins look. Not only because it was tacked on as an afterthought so far into the set's run, but because it didn't make sense to have a vest in a dome. Even if it wasn't always true in practice, the theory was that teams like the White Sox could break out their vests when the weather got warmer. But games in the Metrodome were the same temperature in April as in August.
FiddySicks
The Diamondbacks did technically have two black alternates last season that looked completely different. They had the standard red 'A' on chest black jersey and then wore the special black alt with 'ARIZONA' script to honor the firefighters last summer. But the black 'ARIZONA' alt was only worn for 8 games on their July home stand leading up to the All-Star break (7/5-7/12). So I don't know if you want to count that or not. Other than that, I can't think of any. The next closest one would be the late 90's Twins (their blue alts actually weren't the same, the home alt had the red stylized 'TWINS' script with a white number while the road blue alt had white block 'MINNESOTA' script with red numbers) and the late 90's Mariners who had their navy BP 'MARINERS' jersey that they wore as a normal alt that they wore at home and on the road and then their 'SEATTLE' alt jersey. Houston's last set had two different brick jerseys as well. On 11/19/2012 at 7:23 PM, oldschoolvikings said: She’s still half convinced “Chris Creamer” is a porn site.) OnWis97
I don't remember where I saw it but the Twins were dropping one of the navy alternates. It might have been the "Twins" oneI hope not. I'd rather they use the "Twins" one...that wordmark is much more prevalent than the "Minnesota" word mark. I suppose if this is true, it's because they wear their dark jersey on the road more often, given their use of the throwback at home. I'd rather "Twins" be on the road for the alt than to have the only blue alt be "Minnesota". Disclaimer: If this comment is about an NBA uniform from 2017-2018 or later, do not constitute a lack of acknowledgement of the corporate logo to mean anything other than "the corporate logo is terrible and makes the uniform significantly worse." tohasbo
Well according the the MLBShop.com website the Twins one is not on the site with the 2014 ASG patch on the left sleeve of the jersey. This is also how I found out that there was no Red Sox road jersey, unless they ARE going back to the previous style.

Every offseason, teams will not have all of their jerseys available on MLBShop because Majestic isn't in full production. It happens every year. It doesn't necessarily mean the Sox are changing the roads. Go Astros!Go Texans!Go Rockets!Go Javelinas!

Digby
Dick's Sporting Goods is selling this as an authentic... looks like the 90s/00s style is coming back (albeit with a hanging sox patch on the sleeve). At least that makes one upgrade this offseason. Fan Style ShirtsShowcasing fan-made sports apparel by artists and designers
rmackman
Guess Braves are trying to transform away from the Native American Braves sense. To the patriotic "Home of the Braves"Awful. The red alt was unnecessary to begin with, but at least it looked nice. This, however, blows. The problem is it's not even different. It's just a half a**ed version of their other red alt: "Every morning in Africa, a gazelle wakes up. It knows it must run faster than the fastest lion or it will be eaten. Every morning in Africa, a lion wakes up. It knows it must outrun the slowest gazelle or it will starve. It doesn't matter whether you're a lion or a gazelle. When the sun comes up, you'd better be running." - Unknown | Check out my articles on jerseys at Bacon Sports
