They’re just not sharing it yet.The Earthquakes announced on Thursday that a new logo and uniforms would be revealed on Jan. 30 at the club’s 40th Anniversary Party in downtown San Jose, a year that will be punctuated by the construction of a new soccer-specific stadium for 2015. MrAstrodome
I guess from the looks of things they may be a black, red and blue team. I wonder how the chevrons will be used though.
bosrs1
From what I'm hearing it's actually Blue, Red, Black. They're supposedly going to have a blue primary (like they initially had in MLS), red secondary (like the old NASL Quakes) and the third color utilized on both in some way will be black. The chevrons are rumored to be incorporated into both the new logo and the new kits in some way.
-kj
A return to blue shirts and black shorts, please? Could they have finally come to their senses?
hawk36
Looking forward to it. SJ has one of my least favorite MLS logos so it will be good to see it go. Now if the MLS could only get a decent logo.
-kj
I know it's an unpopular opinion, but I still say that MLS already has a decent logo.
The Golden One
They went from hinting at red being added....to a little more red....to all red on flyer.....
nash61
No offense to Terry Smith, but are we gonna get an anime soccer ball, like with the sharks?

Berlin Wall
I'm really looking forward to this date. I hope they'll do something wise. I like the colours though. How nice would be blue home shirts combined with black shorts and red socks!? I'd love that!
Digby
One of the more scattered identities in American soccer -- red in NASL, blue first time in MLS, black second time in MLS. Going back to blue and relegating black to trim seems like the obvious idea, with maybe a "throwback" red away kit?
IceCap
I'm liking the chevrons and the colour scheme. Red, white, and blue is overused, bur red, black, and blue is very refreshing. I'm looking forward to seeing what they come up with.
Est1980
The chevrons might be some kind of representation of fault lines? Maybe? Would love to know where the chevrons are being incorporated on.
Gothamite
Oh, I think *definitely* fault lines. Clever.
hawk36
They went from hinting at red being added....I like what I'm seeing so far. Promising. As much as I hated the red for Inter, it wouldn't be bad for SJ.
Krona
The way Glasgow Rangers use Blue, Red, and Black is one of my favorite looks in sports., This could be very, very nice. But its the Quakes. And Adidas. So....http://www4.pictures.zimbio.com/gi/Kyle%2BLafferty%2BGlasgow%2BRangers%2Bv%2BKilmarnock%2BDmxPw9OAD-xl.jpg
FiddySicks
I'm actually quite bummed about this change. I absolutely loved the change from the Clash to the Earthquakes, and their color scheme is one of my favorite in sports. I even love that cheesy soccer ball fault line logo they have. bartodell
The chevrons will more than likely be used in the branding for this one. They way they are pushing it in all of the promos and graphics for the website It will be a shame if it is not.

They don't have a cheesy soccerball faultline logo...Well, I meant this logo (Richter scale, fault lines, whatever)But I see that they took that out in the 2008 rebrand. Oh well, still a cool logo and great color scheme IMO. And I absolutely swear they once used a logo with a cracked soccer ball. Maybe I dreamt that though. EDIT: Ahh yes, here it is. Absurdly awesome.Either way, I'm kinda sad they're phasing out the 90s cheesiness of the MLS. I totally understand why, but it was kinda what made the MLS unique to other soccer leagues. Oh well.
